Wait, for that modern supernatural game which may or may not happen, how would summoning work? Would the difficulty be in dealing with the consequences of the summoning? Or would it be in ringing what is literally a tech support company from hell and dealing with as much bureaucracy as a Kafka novel?

Summoning isn't overly complicated. If you aren't calling up a big name in hell, summoned demons tend to stray towards "weirdos who do magic favors for you". Especially when dealing with underage mages for some reason. Probably something about he establishment or whatever. They're the guys you call up when you really want a club sandwich, but the nearest restaurant is on the other side of the city and also closed for the day, and the majority of them are all right with not using your soul as payment.
The more powerful or well known the demon, the more power (usually people if they're inexperienced) required to summon them. Demons you're likely to know the names of tend to want payment, but that varies widely from something you find valuable, to actual money, to favors you owe them.
Then, of course, there are the oldest and most powerful demons, who can kill people with the snap of a finger and universally require souls. For anything whatsoever, even though the practice of soulbartering is archaic and rather pointless to many.
Lucifer exists as you might expect, but his name never ever never comes up in the context of summoning (except to say you don't summon him) because the effort required to even get him to be aware of the fact that you're trying to summon him could kill an inexperienced mage a great many times over, and also why the fuck would you summon Lucifer are you fucking insane

But this all assumes you're summoning the demon to do something for you. Many lesser demons are perfectly content with visiting our realm just to bullshit with humans or give advice that ranges from "brush your teeth twice a day" to "Rosemary and ginger act as a substitute to sulfur if you don't care what whoever you're summoning thinks of you".
