Basically I dreamed that Fate actually exists in the setting and, along with a person's flaws, determines that their Semblance is. So everyone's abilities are reflections of their weaknesses and misfortunes that might not have even happened at the time of discovering it, rather than just being arbitrary or being based on their entire personality. Hence why Cinderella looked so upset when fate was mentioned, because her ability might foreshadow her downfall. Anyway:
So Corundum's speed enhancement reflects the fact that she's recklessly impulsive and that if she was faster, she could have saved Phyrrus.
White's hereditary ability represents the pride and burden granted by being born into her family. She can set pathways for others like the paths she's expected to take, and can conjure fallen foes because she sucks at one-on-one combat.
Blake runs away from her problems and leaves her former allies to deal with it. Hence why she can create duplicates to get hit in her place.
Other Person Who I Can't Figure Out a Demeaning Name For breaks under pressure and the world consistently shits on her constantly, so her ability is a means to counterattack.
Camera seems like a passive observer who is a side-character at best. Thus her ability is to channel what she's observed to replicate the skills of more plot-important people
Phyrrus can manipulate magnetism. Something which doesn't work too well when the materials in question are heated. So of course she gets killed by Flamey.
Oh and I also ended up dreaming that Mister "Heartbroken over literal heartbreak"'s semblance was the stupidly overpowered ability to briefly disable other people's bodily functions, due to his deep-set insecurities about his own capabilities and the fact that the world robbed him of his love interest.
