D&G disengage, leave that business to the crazy people who can't go one plot without losing their minds over philosophy.

It's funny that Alanis's beliefs are completely unpopular IC, but from a Meta-RP perspective that whole aspect of her character is completely realistic. Not the beliefs themselves but how much she believes in them and is willing to go to the lengths to stand firm even in the face of opposition, regardless of whether she's actually right or wrong.

And her beliefs, they've kind of been substantiated in offhand remarks throughout this game, too.

How so?

Sandra lies in bed, a little smile etched onto her face.

Now I have to imagine that Sandra has been smiling and staring up at the ceiling, unblinking the entire time like some sort of doll as she's been listening to the muffled sounds of argument through the floorboards.

Regardless of all that, ENG and alanis would be best buds in nihilism if ITE hadn't shown up.

I figure at some point, you're just gonna run outta fucks to give and just off yourself whenever you get hurt at all. It's not like there's any downsides to it. Hangover? Suicide will fix that. Stubbed your toe? Suicide. Headache? Suicide. Papercut? Suicide.

No, Alanis would have had a breakdown and refused to leave Undertale...

Regardless of all that, ENG and alanis would be best buds in nihilism if ITE hadn't shown up.

But isn't Alanis a 100% believer in a higher deity? That's not very nihilistic.

No, they're convinced.  They don't believe.

The wizards of UU don't believe in gods.  They know they exist, but they can't believe in them.

All the definitions of "convinced" I can find all relate to belief, so I can't find much difference between the two terms beyond semantics and specifications.

And regardless of how correct she may be, everyone else is acting in a plausible manner.
