only three times since I started using this handle in 1994, has some assmonkey taken it.  One of those times it was actually me who had done it, and I forgot.

tl;dr:

1. Their design philosophy focuses on rapid, repeated prototyping with team-wide feedback.
2. Coders are and will be for a while entirely oriented on making sure that there are strong foundations before work starts on content. Estimated date for a very early vertical slice of combat summer 2016.
3. Story set in Rimward section of the Periphery, draws atmospheric inspiration from Dune.
4. Core goal of their art team right now is avoiding soulless Oblivion-people in the MechWarrior portraits.

It's January 16th, which means that pledges are locked in and the first group of rewards are being distributed. For those of us who gave $85, the Order of Valhalla board is up, and it has topics to vote on regarding the subject of an upcoming twitch stream by HBS. The wallpapers are available for download as well and they look pretty nice.

I haven't really been keeping up with development. Is this going to have battle armored infantry and aerospace fighters and GEVs and dropships like in the tabletop? Or is it just mechs?

E: Oh, is that a little tank in the video? I guess I wasn't paying attention.

E2: In the kickstarter page they say you can only play with one lance of mechs at a time (4 mechs), and that you'll maybe be able to use aerospace fighters as what sounds like offmap support, and that tanks are going to be "support units", whatever that means!

I should have done more research before investing in this game. I was expecting company-level combat, not XCOM 2 4-man squads! Bah! >:I

Sweet. 

Will buy it as soon as the director cut bundle with the first two expansions goes on sale for 50%. 

Will probably get around to playing it about a year after that.

Yeah, technically, the video is for backers only.

As a side note, I will be updating the main post of the topic this weekend. Busy life is busy, but I have let this one wallow in the dust for too long.

They're going for a pretty classic Battletech experience with this, so a single lance of mechs is pretty much what I expected. Video makes it all look pretty good, even this early!

What, like TA?  Or any of its successors, like Supreme Commander or Planetary Annihilation?

Or like Dune 2, or any of /ITs/ successors, like any RTS ever made, including the above?

Or did you mean with turns?  If so, post this over in the "recommend me a game" thread, I'd like to see what people have to say.
