Thanks!

Music: Straight Outta Bounties
We train up Goldust and Ultimate Warrior, who learns Absorb, and continue to make our way towards a city we see in the distance.  The few pokewrestlers in our way, Lass Natalie and Youngster Logan, get taken out single-handedly by Goldust who's starting to pull a lot of weight on the roster.  As we reach the city we saw out in the distance, we meet that girl again, who this time tells us something we actually want to hear: where Ric Flair is.
Apparently he's more clever than he looks and went to the Trainer School to learn how to properly turn our pokemon into cold-blooded killers.  We quickly head inside and find him chatting up the teacher while all the students gawk at him.

"Hey, look who finally showed up!  Now listen kiddo, I know you think you can settle your score with me, but I've found out about something bigger than you, bigger than the WWE!  There's this guy called the Pokewrestle Champion and if someone beats him, THEY become the champion to replace him!"  His eyes sparkle as we push a student off his chair and lift it over our head.  "We'll settle this on my terms, nacho man, and I'm heading off to Oreburgh to fight the gym there 'cause you gotta prove your talent by getting all 8 badges before you can even THINK about challenging the champ!  You know what they say, 'to be the man, you gotta beat the man.'"
He sidesteps the chair we throw at him and dashes out of the school.  We try and follow him, but we get blocked by a sleazy man in a suit, no doubt one of Ric's lackeys.

"Hey buddy, I see that you're a pokemon trainer but WOW!  You don't even have a poketech?  You must be a rookie!  Tell ya what kid, if you can find the 3 clowns around Jubilife City and answer their questions correctly, then I'll give you a free poketech of your own!  Hey, whats with that look on your face?  Uh, wh-what're you doing?"

It only takes a single second in a submission hold for him to give us the poketech and to point us in the direction of Oreburgh.  We heal up, head off, and barely a minute after we leave the city we run into Ric Flair!

"Macho man is gonna finish this right here and now!  I know that you can't wait to face the tower of power that is macho man Randy Savage!"

"You're right for once, big boy!  But if we're gonna fight, who's gonna commentate?  I say we let our pokemon wrestle in a no DQ, tag-team submission match while we provide commentary."

And so, after a few hours setting up a ring and getting some microphones, we take out our pokemon and start the match!  It's Goldust and Ultimate Warrior versus his Chimchar and Starly.  First into the ring are Goldust and Starly.

"Well Randy Savage, Goldust might have 2 levels on Starly but here that hardly gives it an edge.
Starly's got the advantage in speed and agility and right now it seems to be waging a psychological offense against Goldust by using growl."

"He might be faster, but Goldust has him beat in terms of raw power and look how he's using it!  Tackle after tackle just rains down on Starly as it falls!
Looks like you underestimated how macho man trains his pokemon."

"But now here comes the real man of the hour, Chimchar!  Looks like Goldust is in some trouble now after just a single scratch, eh macho man?  Looks like he's tagging in Ultimate Warrior!"

"Well now Ric it's the main event, Chimchar versus Ultimate Warrior, and it looks like it's turning into a slugfest!  They are just hammering away at each other, nothing being held back right now and--"

  "Oooh, down goes Chimchar!"

"Looks like you've got more in you than I thought, but you can't stop me no matter what you do!  I'm going straight to the top, baby!  Woooo!"

He runs off towards Oreburgh while we run back to Jubilife to heal up and stock up for the next part of our adventure...

Stats:
  • Goldust: Lv 10; knows Tackle, Leer, Charge
  • Ultimate Warrior: Lv 9; knows Tackle, Withdraw, Absorb
  • Kalisto: Lv 3; knows Tackle, Growl

(which is apparently normal/flying instead of just flying like I thought)
There's a grand total of 1 Pokémoneemang that's Flying and Flying-type only, and that Pokeemang is from Black and White [2].

Well, technically, there is a Gen IV Pokémoneemang that can be pure Flying-type. You just have to royally hack the game to get it.

If you get Drifblim If this wasn't Diamond, you could name it The Undertaker.

If I had gotten my emulator to work(or if I had found my sister's old copy of Platinum that I just KNOW is lying around somewhere) before I started this, I woulda done it.  Or maybe a different generation entirely.  OR MAYBE NOT EVEN POKEMON, WHO KNOWS?

Music: Bombs Over Skullgirls
After healing up we decide to start rounding out our team and begin training Kalisto on route 202, and after he learns Quick Attack his training progresses quite well without incident.  Continuing on to route 203, Ultimate Warrior takes out Youngster Michael easily, which hopefully isn't a sign that we're overleveled for now, but just afterwords we run into a new pokemon on this new route!
GUESS WHICH RATATTA RE-SPRITE WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN YET?

(hint; it's this guy)

After a few minutes' consideration, we name it Kane, because if I'm gonna have a less-cool ratatta I want it to be as bad-ass as possible(I was thinking of using Vader or Andre but I should probably save that for another pokemon)  The next trainer we encounter seems awfully familiar, what was his name?  Youngster... DALLAS?!

"Hey there, macho man!  I see you're also trying to become the Pokewrestle champion, well guess who else I ran into?  Ric Flair!  Small world, innit?
Anyway, sorry to break it to you but I'm heading to the Oreburgh gym too, and you can't get in my way this time!"

We did.  Kalisto dropped a Rising Sun on his Kriketot(which only knew Bide and Growl) and that was that.  Leaving the dejected Diamond Dallas, Kalisto solos another trainer and learns Wing Attack.  The only thing left between us and Oreburgh is the Oreburgh Gate cave, where we almost trip over a rock immediately after entering it.  Or was it a rock?

Say hello to Stone Cold

We receive the HM Rock Smash from a helpful Hiker, and Ultimate Warrior sweeps past the trainers remaining in our way.  Surprisingly, we don't run into a Zubat in the cave which I was expecting to have to catch(don't get me wrong, Crobat is amazing)  We exit the cave and walk down the aging steps into Oreburgh, but some other trainer meets us near the entrance.  APPARENTLY, badges are the be-all, end-all of being a pokewrestler, and since we currently have a grand total of 0, Macho man will forever be remembered as that one crazy guy who tries to teach pokemon how to wrestle.  He quickly brings us in front of the gym, but Ric Flair is standing outside!
And so, we have reached a new town with 2 new pokemon in our team and a new challenge awaiting us!  'Till next time.

I would GREATLY appreciate any more suggestions for names, since there is another cave coming up and I have NO CLUE what to name a Zubat if/when we catch one.  Also sorry for the short update, I get a surprising amount of homework for a senior taking piss-easy classes and haven't had time to play much(let alone write it up)

The Boogieman maybe? Seems like an ok idea, seeing as there aren't many worms about.

Also. Rattata can't hold a candle to the badass that are Bidoofs. Never underestimate the wrath of the mighty beaver.

I'm not familiar with wrestlers nowadays, I'm no help here, unless you want to name him something that sounds like it would be a wrestler name.

In which case, calling zubat Bruce Wingman, or just Bruce (for batman's Sake) could work...

Or be that one guy and call him Hulk Hogan, but that should be saved for Magikarp

I don't know of a single wrestler who would fit a bat. Boogeyman as Birdy suggested maybe, since there's at least a tenuous link of bat = night, boogeyman = night.

Well, there was Vladimir Kozlov for a while there, although Kozlov seems like a weird name for a Zubat. :P

That gave me a good idea actually.

Music is Hajime no Ippo - Stand Proud

"Well it looks like you finally made it here, Savage.  Man, how slow can you get?  I already got my Gym Badge, I'm just sticking around to commentate on your loss against the Gym Leader."

"I know you didn't learn much at Royal Jack-off College, but anyone with half a brain knows that Macho Man is gonna wipe that Gym Leader out of here before your first 'Woo!'"

"Hmph, well that 'Woo' needs to wait, cause the leader headed off to the mines not too long ago.  You should probably find him before you get scared and run away."

We head through town, looking in peoples' houses, and we find some good items.  We find some stardust hidden in a slag pile, and promptly give it to Goldust.  Before we head into the mines, we teach Kane our HM06 Rock Smash to help him train when we get the chance.

In the mine, we find our 6th Pokemon, completing our roster!  It took a while due to some bad decisions on my part, but we end up catching him with Kalisto.
I decide to name him after what I've been reading instead of updating this, and so we name him:
Volg Zangeif!

(actually its VolgZangif, but screw name limits)

We warm-up on some trainers on our way to the gym leader, but it's quite a surprise when we meet him!  He's just a kid!

"Hey there trainer, did you know that you can use the HM Rock Smash outside of battle?  Only if you beat the gym leader here though, which'd be me!  That reminds me, I need to get back to the gym!"

We didn't even have the time to challenge him to a match before he speeds off.  We quickly follow suit, but not before training up Ultimate Warrior, who learns Razor Leaf, and Kane.

After healing up, we head into the gym... which will sadly have to wait until tomorrow.

I was about to write up the gym but I had to leave earlier than I expected. RIP.
