This is kinda what The Don was talking about.
Now that nobody can use trees, we are making alternatives instead of more trees. Thus decreasing the potential amount of trees in the world for little reason...
I don't care if the entire planet isn't literally covered entirely in trees as long as no one is cutting down trees. Maximum proliferation is not the highest priority for me. Otherwise I wouldn't have done anything except make more trees with all my essence, and just boost their fruitfulness to the max.
Influence
Influence is a source of income based on how much your sphere affects the world. Affecting it are factors such as integration into the world, display of sphere in the world, and size of sphere. A few sample Influence incomes are listed here:
- A goddess of Earth giving up much power to be made into a planet: ~4E/Tick
- A god of Storms who induces storms sporadically and is known for it: ~2E/Tick
- A Nature goddess whose domain in the mortal realm is widely known and whose subjects(/spies?) are (in)famous: ~3E/Tick
- A god of Stars who gives up much independence and direct power to be made into stars with astrological significance: ~3E/Tick
Influence!
But I see both sides now, and think you're both being silly
Fair enough, I forgot some of the nuance of influence's functioning. But it seems to me more that we're both right, linking a god to their sphere helps with influence, and having your sphere be influential, even if it is not necessarily linked to you, also helps with influence.
How many trees do you think there are? You're making every single one sentient. That costs at least as much as creating mortals, since you'd almost certainly make them worship you. In fact, it would probably make Zhin more likely to kill them since he wouldn't want your follower base to be larger than his permanently.
Also I find it hilarious that it's a giant living god-city going to war with a giant living god-tree. Industrialism versus the extremist green movement.
I did not actually expect the trees to worship me by default. I was going by the pricing of the intelligence trait, and how much treewide augmentations pricechecks have come up at previously. I'm almost certainly not going to do it though (unless suddenly tree hivemind?), so I suggest we just drop it as it's fast becoming a pointless hypothetical that'll cause a long argument.
