Remember to check further the functions of those SRCs, hooking up the third to the antenna.

 Afterall, they may have a useful program for us, and with one on the antenna we can better check its systems, plus have the potential for acting as a somewhat automated system.

 Heck, they might have some form of educational program we could use for our new buddies.

where is the port for the AI chip on our suite?

If it's on the helmet,
remove helmet and use alien respirator while we insert the AI chip
else

 Hang on, does our suit have any functions other than life support? An inbuilt radio, a computer, that sorta thing?

 I dont think we have a tester for solids/liquids yet, otherwise we would have tested the alien ration bars.

Well... we could have one of our minions eat it for us and try to tell us if it would be toxic for us. It's not a 100% reliable system, but it's better than nothing.

 Best case, a fluke of magic means we can eat it with no ill effects. Probable case, we can eat it while only getting a little sick. Worse case, it kills us.

Those tiny tree bugs or whatever it is seem to plan something.
It's been a while since any of them dared to come close to the base, and they seem to be kinda intelligent.
I don't want us to be taken by surprise by a wave of hundreds of them or something.
We should at least check the surroundings quickly to make sure there aren't more of them watching us.

You check the SRCs for any useful programs. You find some video media files on your SRC that you briefly skim over, they look a lot like the battle briefings you got in the flotilla only the diagrams and plans are a lot lower quality. You don't spend to long looking at them since they don't seem relevant right now but you could trawl through the hours of recordings if you wanted something to do I suppose. As for combining the SRC with the transmitter from the mountain you could probably use the transmitter to boost the signal and make a LRC, since you only have the one though it'd be a one way deal.

You take a leg to taste test the new alien. Even after cooking it still seems quite upsetting for your digestive system and you feel a bit like throwing up. You also check the ingredients on the alien's ration bars. they are basically the same as the ones you have, they do have some other ingredient called 'emulsified tomato paste' which for all you know could be deadly.

While you eat you watch Tusk's feats of strength while some of the plantmin egg Tusk on with their plant gibberish. While tusk seems a fair bit stronger then the plantmin it seems like they aren't to bright.


I added a beastiary to the second post in the thread. Might be worth a look at. I intentionally left off the little bird critters that are around because I realized how badly drawn they are and they haven't been important. Next time they show up i'll fix them.

Test some of the meat. Do this by taking the atmos scanner. Presumably it can detect particles of whatever is in the air. Place some meat into the fire. Then position the atmos scanner right above it. Taking readings of the smoke/evaporated liquid should be eno- WAIT
