Check our lockpicking skill. If its above 45, we should have a decent chance of opening the crates. ((Hur-Hur)) If not, look around the ship. Almost every ship will have A. A first aid kit and B. An emergency repair kit. Either of those should have a crowbar

Not for now, but maybe for later: Try adding the blood of one of those teslahogs or whatever you wanna call them to our mother plant. Maybe we will get electric, hard-skinned super soldiers that way ;)

Edit: Are those things to the north of the base graves? Did we shovel those? If we didn't: What the heck is going on?

Pretty sure they're graves

Also

Find a part of Bulb/Another plant we dont care about that was shot off. Pick it apart. Try to see if it is anatomically similar to earth plants/creatures. If it is, then the chances of anything here being edible significantly increases

Actually, let's not break open the crates.
What if they contain aggressive, living creatures? It's almost night and they'd be able to escape, but not before horribly maiming another one of our plant tribe members. I think we should sleep until morning to heal.

Just sleep. We can start smacking the boxes and any superpositioned cats in there tomorrow.

We will sleep anyway, the actions we are planning now ARE for the next morning.
At least that's how I understand the sentence in the turn 44.

I think we decided against that, fearing that whatever would come out of it wouldn't be as loyal to us as Bulb and its siblings are.
We fed some of the alien blood to Mother 1 though, that's where those greenish spots came from.

Turn 45



You wake up to late to see the sun rise. Looks like you slept in due to all the labour yesterday. Some of the Plantmin are missing but Mask helpfully informs you that they went out to forage for biomass. Mask and the other new guy stayed behind to guard camp and craft weaponry.



After a quick but larger breakfast (-5 ration bars, didn't eat last night so bigger meal) you check on the graves that Rabbit and Bulb dug. Shallow sand graves aren't the best but they didn't have digging implements so it can't be helped. While you are there the foraging party returns with their haul (+7 biomass).



You gather the Plantmins and show them how to safely open the crates. You are pretty sure there aren't any lifeforms inside the crates, you can't hear anything and they are airtight so it would be almost impossible for anything to survive in there.

Mask and one of the new Plantmin wander off when you aren't paying attention. Bulb tells you that they wanted to go foraging after the first group returned, you would have liked it if they told you about these plans.

You sneakily steal some of rabbit's 'leaves'. You're not exactly a botanist but it looks like the foliage resembles the stuff here on the planet rather then the earth life you've seen. You give them a taste, they aren't great, but you aren't throwing up either.



You get all of the crates open at about midday. The three crates contain different types of items inside: survival materials, equipment and loot.

Survival:
20x Ration bars (alien)
1x Electric fire (portable battery heaters)
2x Spare air tank
5x Blankets

Equipment
2x Cutters (probably for boarding ships)
1x Hull Scanner (seeing through walls)
1x Fusetool (For fusing metal during ship repairs?)

The survival gear seems pretty limited. Maybe their plan was to wait in their ship's panic room for the larger ship to save them. The Equipment seems focused around cutting into ship hulls which isn't surprising. The loot container has some precious metals and various currencies inside. The AI card is interesting, theoretically it will have an AI personality saved onto it. They aren't that expensive but someone thought it was valuable.

Mask and the other Plantmin haven't returned yet.

We should give Mask and the other plantmin some time before we go search for them. I am sure they can handle themselves at this point, for a while any way.
In the meantime, we should probably plan ahead where to build a wall of sorts. There are confirmed hostiles in the nearby area, so it is better be safe than sorry.
