Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You approach the automated Cobble armour suit.

You try and cut the sap on the ReForged Fleshcleaving Bronze Greatsword.

[6]

Finally. You can't quite lift the ReMaking-infused greatsword, but by bringing the ball of sap down on the sharper edge, you split it into a curiously liquid emulsion of tiny droplets, which soon harden into strings of pearly sap. Probably something to do with chemicals. Wow, it feels great to be able to move your hands again!

You could, though you're not sure if you have time for that.

The Flea - Don Jonne, pulp colour-printed illustrated novel.
Tearful Moon - Horsefeather fats, paperback colour-printed illustrated novel.
The Satyr and the Cobble Lady - Bill Sandmoon, pig leather-bound colour-printed illustrated novel.
Alyks in Undersand - Selwi Rollcar, paperback novella.
Lonely as a Fog - Wamilli Swordthrow, paperback illustrated novel.
The Yellow Prince - Aleisha Wimpersleake, bull leather-bound novel.

None are magical, but some might be higher than others in value, not that this mechsuit-wearing Cobble thug would have known. Which will you pick? You can probably only carry one in your rucksack, though maybe one more if you ditch the knife.

You get the Aleisha Wimpersleake and stow it in your backpack. A first-edition play by that lofty author? You'll make a killing!

Damn. You can feel the nearby water currents shifting. Something fairly big is coming, towards you, though the folds of... whatever it is... conceal you a little, as does the weird stuff scattered everywhere and unclear water. Do you run away? If so where to, sticking close to the walls, ceiling or floor?

Or do you stay and fight?

Run, run, run away,
Quickly down the underwater tunnel,
Panicking, panicking, panicking,
Please don't eat me.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Hey, if you're scared of running through a bunch of skeletons and god knows what, through a forest of wildly thrashing giant worm thingies, and through another boneyard, then your pursuer will be even more so! And what does a homeless, mostly penniless, friendless orphan like yourself have to lose, anyhow? You make good time, dashing though the first set of bones, though currents suggest that your pursuer is following pretty quickly, then come to a ledge. Below that, more giant and strange skeletons, some of which appear to have been partially dragged or carried into the writhing pit beyond. Which way do you take? Right, left or centre? Jumping down? Climbing? Using the overhanging spine somehow? What escape tactics will you use when you're down there?

Grab one of those weapons and chop up the worm.

Walk up to the hand-like bone thingy and ask if it knows Flabort.
