Grey langur people have innate ability of treasure detection. If you happened to forget the location of your stockpile, you can follow her.

No kidding, I just had a tribe of Gray Langur people come in a make off with 3 pieces of masterwork clothing. I caught 4 of their kin though. They are so getting staked on chains out in the dessert sun to become the chew-toy of whatever decides to attack me next. I wish there was some way I could put them on chains on the top of my wall and then push them off to leave them dangle there for the keas or goblin archers to amuse themselves with.

Can't you just chain them to the top, gat a rubbish fighter to attack them ,thus pushing them off, or having them dodge off?

I think that might tear them loose from the chain instead.

Neither, they just get disconnected.

What's the lifespan of an animal person? Does it vary, maybe is it related to the base animal?

It's the same as the base animal.

Is there a way to change max age from a creature template?

Yes, though only if you're removing the old maxage and replacing it with a new one. Trying to adjust it based on the old value does not work.

Incidentally, while you can't eat or use most animal person parts, eggs are fair game.

I decided to tie up the Grey Langur Woman as bait in a tiger-catching trap.

She was promptly beaten to death by human merchants. I still have a Python Man, maybe I can do something good with him.

Sentient food production: your dwarves can chat and eat at the same time!

Wait, do you mean a male or female Python Man? Looks like male, now I look closer.

It's a Python Man. I've tied a chicken up for the tiger trap.

I will implement the next suggestion and post pics.

I did just discover that the truly pant's-wetting sight of a gray langur man on a chain is enough to drive off the human ambassador. I couldn't figure out why he kept walking up to my gate and then running away in mortal fear. I had the same thing happen once when I had a Hydra chained up in front of my fort. I guess that was understandable. Sending my military to kill my chained monkey men solved the problem. It was a pretty ignominious way to kill something off.

I recall Spahlerite's sea serpent breeding farm which had an interesting fact about chains: you don't actually have a tether between creature and location. You just have mind-control preventing them from thinking of leaving the 3x3 area around the location. Can't remember what happens when dodging off Z-level happens.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.
