Animal People: What are they good for?
« on: July 11, 2015, 01:45:59 pm »

I captured an animal person. A Gray Langur Woman.

I can find remarkably little info on common uses for them. What do people usually do with these? Do they need to eat?

Build a room with tables, chairs and a booze stockpile and designate it as a meeting area. Put a single brass support in the middle of the room...

Why?
Stripper joke.

The only useful animalmen are lizardmen for killing all the FBs in the caves, and tigermen for being the mayor.

Zoos and testing murder machines. And I think they can be gladiators, after you cage them, though am unsure, they may just flee like invaders.

Grey langur people have innate ability of treasure detection. If you happened to forget the location of your stockpile, you can follow her.

Breed a generation of mamluks or janissaries out of them.

I've always just thrown them into my arena, or put them out on chains outside my fort to act as spotters and distractions for whatever murderous guests show up. Most of them don't really put up much of a sporting fight though. I have however just captured about 6 hamsterpersons and I can't really bear to just slaughter them like that. I keep thinking about Ewoks. I would really like it if there were some way to make them part of my fortress.

I think that may be possible next update.

When blood-drinking animal people, like leech men or mosquito women, suck the blood of a vampire, they become vampires themselves. However, it is nearly impossible to get this to happen.

Nothing that a little clever burrowing and precise maiming can't solve!

The biggest problem is that blood-drinking animal people are so small that they can't pierce the skin of even the wimpiest vampire.

Animal people socialize and don't do any fighting. They'll take elected positions often as, doing nothing but socialize, they tend to make several friends. As they are not full citizens, and thus hard to control, this can be annoying.
