((I thought Ed had come with Newton to the diner, then to see Wilhelm))
Oh God. From the looks of ridge here -yes, thee guys are with me - those black goo creatures have come across. Your village is in great danger. Ugh, this all started with a little infection. I can't believe how quickly it's spreading and evolving. Fridge, get to a sink and wash that shit off before it eats you. Wilhelm, you should do whatever it is you do in emergencies. Sound the alarm, call the people together, whatever. This stuff gets into animals and takes over, turning them into something else. Jon, electrofry any black creatures you see. Where are the professor, Ed, and the Captain? We need to be ready to get the hell gone!
Newton pauses a moment, thinking about what they have tried against the creatures so far. Guns take them down eventually, but they just infect something else and move on. Water seems to only slow them down a little. they appear to be attracted to people, or maybe it's 'special' people. Our powers have some effect, but ... Antibacterials and other meds in that first aid kit didn't kill it when it was just an infection ... oh no ...
Wilhelm! Fridge! Time to try the old fashioned way. Kill it with fire!
Plan: Gather flammables to a flammable building, draw the monsters in, ignite. Ideally, this will also set the forest on fire. Then all that's left is to burn the island, hunt down any stragglers on the mainland to the north, and boil the ocean.
Only problem with the plan is that they can just run from the fire far to the east. If the forest lights you'll probably just slow them down.
That's assuming that they can't adapt to fire if it is used extensively... That said, we'll still go ahead with your plan.
Wilhelm stares at the ground, his face has grown dark. He finally speaks
"We have to evacuate the village. For your plan we can use an old storage building on the village outskirts by the woods, it is far enough from any other buildings that it should not set them alight. We can set people on the roofs of the nearest buildings to help shoot the things when they arrive. I'll have my men sound the alarm. They'll also aid in preparing the building."Thanks for the heads up.
Gather stones to hurl while I am waiting for Wilhelm, and be prepared to repel hostiles.
Jon can focus on readying his electric power to launch at them, and maybe to superheat some trees into exploding around them too.
You gather stones and aid in preparing the building to burn. A foreboding siren sounds from the central building of the village, lights of all the houses flick on.
"I think I've seen the black goo respond to blood before. Maybe we can use it as a kind of bait..."
Follow Newton to where he plans to start the fire. Reduce my sense of touch to 10% and then cut myself with some kind of blade. Sprinkle my blood around the area. Then leave the building and receive medical attention.
You do so and get yourself bandaged up. Afterwards, you aid in preparing the rest of the trap. A foreboding siren sounds from the central building of the village, lights of all the houses flick on.
"Yeah, was gonna do that anyway. By the way, Private Nosebleed, they're not responding too well to magic anymore. Must be getting immunity. Bear that in mind."
Go wash my hands. With industrial-strength chemicals if needed.
Newton mentions a small bar to head to and says to mention his name. A young black haired woman greets you and looks at your hands in disgust. After hearing the names of your companions, she lends you some soap and strong cleaning chemicals for your hands. A foreboding siren sounds from the central building of the village, lights of all the houses flick on, the people within the bar leave at an alarming rate, heading towards the town hall by the river delta.
"Fred, you old bastard!" Professor greets him loudly with great smile. "Can you get some for me? After this day I might want to drink my brain off into very non-scientific laalaa land! Wassup Eddie? Keeping track of good old captain? Did you found any nice local dogs?"
Keep Captain from interfering, gently and firmly. Keep working.
"Yes, Yes..." he hands you a canteen full of a strong smelling alcohol.
"Keep it, I have more."The Captain plops down in a chair and meanders on about his service in the military, soon falling asleep. You finish your work and get your parts. A foreboding siren sounds from the central building of the village, lights of all the houses flick on. The Captain wakes up violently, swinging his fists at the air before realizing the situation. Ed raises his ears, and growls loudly.
Also, your truck is still in the woods, but you should have enough time to get it out before those things arrive.
All except conein:As a result to Newton's plan, the old warehouse building at the edge of town is loaded up with flammable materials and can be set alight remotely (1-2 hundred feet away at most). Fridge, Newton, Phil, and John gather up at the towns center with Wilhelm and his workers. Towns people flow in at first as a trickle, and then as a flood of complaints and worries. Wilhelm tells them what you have told him, and that they are evacuating, they respond with a barrage of questions and concerns.
"What are these things?!" "How did they get here?!?" "How long do we have until they arrive?!" "Do we have any plans to stop them!?"_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
them running away from us for a while? How is that a problem?
Let's sum up the situation: Very early on, Professor misuses his magic somehow and gets infected with slowly spreading black goo. it is resistant to medical attention. and spreads. We land on a n island. Professor, to save himself, removes the infected leg.
Which then proceeds to run unopposed right by literally every player character in the game at the time, and starts biting wildlife.
Players attempt a minor set of extermination, but, as the creature apparently is much quicker to spread, and wildlife seems willing enough to let it near enough to bite them (Ed excluded), it infects an entire island. Then it spreads, and develops resistances to magic and bullets. Clearly water is no obstacle. Oh, and it apparently has taken to tracking us. We have no poison, nukes, or ice available. We have an electric guy, a builder guy, a telekinetic, and a grav guy. What's left? Are we going to air them to death? Because really, it's that or fire. I am not strong enough to launch them all into space, nor to condense them into a single blob. And they spread faster than we travel. Aaaaaannnnnnnd, it is now in direct contact with one of our people again.
Okay, so it's been hinted that they have some weakness. Weakness to what? boredom? each other? Romance? Fire it is. I am not chasing all the fucking way to the east and to the north, and under the damned sea to cut of their escape - that way lies wilderness, and they can breed out there until they circumnavigate for all I care, as long as we have bought enough time to get off this filthy death hole planet. I don't even care about revenge against the Federation at this point. I'm pretty sure unleashing the black plague was revenge enough. And, like all revenge, it was misguided and will inevitably destroy far more innocents than enemies. Fire, delay, and flee.
As soon as Professor gets the truck running, Newton gets on and suggests quite firmly that we head straight for a space port. Collect any of our number we can, but the instant one of those comes, we go. The magic black eat everything evolves and moves and breeds faster than we travel sentient chase down the player characters goo is out of control, and short of orbital bombardment, we are not getting rid of it.
You can always set the building afire and leave. What I was saying is that this isn't going to completely eliminate them, but it will hold them off long enough to allow the villagers and you all time to get away. That said, you can always just set the building on fire and leave. Also, I get your point, I made the goo seem too powerful. I said there is a weakness, and it is fire.
Ok, I have a better plan.
go to the place where we could find a safehouse.
You find a hotel and rent out a fairly large suite for yourself and the soldiers with you. It has a good view of the military base, being three stories up. The men with you help set up some equipment.
Since The Moonlit Shadow is no longer playing, would you like to post actions for his character to do? Otherwise he'll probably just die of a surprise heart attack.
Is The Moonlight Shadow's character just gonna die or will he be able to be controlled by other players like how Jon Goldbloom is?
I'm just going to leave that up to conein since their characters are together currently.
