Basically, you or someone else gets to decide a secret that your character has, and you tell this secret to the GM. I'm personally up for it, because it makes the RP more flexible and less full of whiny munchkins. Plus it's good practice in general, since it forces you into a less comfortable situation.

On a side note, though, the phrase "the RP will be delicious" earns the CotW award!

Oh, don't get me wrong, normally I'd be all for this 'secret' system.
But this is the one time I'm trying to go for a reasonably normal, well-adjusted character barring maybe a few quirks, and having other people add secrets of some sort to his past is not very conductive to that.

I'm relatively open to it... if it's something that would make sense for my character. If it's something out of nowhere with not even the slightest reason for being there, don't want.

Hence 'barring a few quirks'. A few rather large quirks.
And they aren't to me, basically all of my previous characters have a Dark and Troubled Past of some sort. Playing somebody who is for the most part normal will be a somewhat new experience.

Secrets are just things that make RP more interesting. IF you do not want your character to have a secret, then If any gets sent to me, Elf, or Projeck, then we will just veto them. It's an opt in feature. You can use it if you want.

EDIT: Also, If we think a Secret does not fit a character or it's something that will ultimately screw with a character, we will veto it.
