I've always wanted to be a domestic terrorist!

Now I can lead a whole cell of them!

Be honest, you only wanted to be a terrorist when you discovered that "the man" was a snake-lady-bloke-thing...

I wonder how funding mechanics are going to work. You can't be a self-funded terrorist organization, after all. You'll need backers among the civilian population, which means the public perception of you should matter a lot.

I'm guessing stealing stuff to sell will probably be a big factor.

The gamescom presentation showed that regions all have local resistance forces that can be contacted by X-Com, I'm guessing they provide you funding. Alternatively, there might not be any spacebux and everything is entirely material based.

Might even be an elerium-based economy, in this new world.  Depending on how much alien tech the remote resistance forces have.  Obviously weapons technology hasn't been captured, but the supply ship was.  Elerium power generators might be widespread.

As well, if the alien government still uses money, it can be used by front companies to acquire resources and the like for XCOM. They have to eat, after all.

I think the concept of spacebux is now "supplies" which come from holding countries, so the general idea of holding territory -> basic resource is still there.

It's not even a revision of a classic, it's a sequel to NuCom. Why do people think it has to have anything to do with TFTD?
