read the thread you nincompoop
It's because VAHLEN IS GONE D':

I never really liked Vahlen enough to be all torn up about it.

Sure, she had rumors circulated that she was a sadist for aliens, but honestly, I'd think it's more like propoganda. If the aliens hear about how this Vahlen is so evil and will gladly eat a muton's brain for breakfast while cooking up some floater ribs, morale will crumble!

So yeah. I think the title is kinda overplaying the reaction to this :P
one, it's a running joke you idijit
two. In what universe would the aliens-Who don't HAVE morale, because they're slaves-Be afraid of humanity, or any human at all?

Okay. I think it's time for me to tune out all footage from now on.

I want it to be as fresh as it can be right now. Too bad I can't unsubscribe from forum threads...

I took a look at that base video. I imagine that there are events when you open an empty room related to what you have discovered from the alien vessel.

P.S.
Umm, there seemed to be, umm, status displays? little symbols at he bottom-left of each room, what were they supposed to resemble?

Voluntarily keeping yourself from following an upcoming game is painful, but usually worth it.

That is, if you have the willpower to continue through with it. I know I don't, but I'll try anyways.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

This. There's going to be some sort of mechanic where base staff are less abstracted and more flexible. AKA more depth, which is practically the same thing as more fun, am I right?

Yeaah, I'm a little leery of personnel (micro)management too.  But, more depth is what one might expect from a sequel.  Particularly when the previous game often gets replayed to bits.

Its going to be more of a challenge, but it looks like adding the people is optional.
It mostly looks like dumping people in either A)trains/retrains them if they are a soldier or B) makes the room do its shit faster.

I think it's separate staff and soldiers. One of the rooms had a slot for an engineer and one for a soldier.
