Then robo-Shen presses a button and the Temple Ship transforms into a spelljammer, and they cruise off into the solar wind.

They both live forever because SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY.

That reminds me that they were a couple originally.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

Yep. Shen even had a ring modeled before they axed it.

Seems legit.  Why are we fighting, again?

And never did anyone drink a 'blueberry smoothie' offered by him again.

Now, just what if Vahlen IS the new commander?  All the stealth and subtle missions suddenly make more sense as she outlawed the use of explosives to protect the valuable alien artifacts.

I would be completely OK with this but I doubt it.

She would be better than Shen at least.  "But if we kill the aliums, doesn't that make us as bad as the aliums?"

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

Shen has a pretty solid point in that sudden influxes of technology tend to destabilise things, and genetic modification raises a whole bunch of issues that would have to be addressed. That's what he says: he expresses concern for what will happen after the war.

Yeah, he's never against defeating the aliens, he's just against doing like the aliens and using augmentations, both biological and mechanical.

To the extent that he ponders "Huh, isn't this kinda messed up?" as he chops people's limbs off and makes them like floaters.

Meanwhile, the Vahlen Train has no brakes.

"Dr. Vahlen, why do you keep interrogating the captives until they die? The Ethereals and Thin Men even speak English."

"Why?"

They were like "Thin men are expert professional infiltrators, they're gonna be a tough nut to crack", and the second they closed the interrogation room the Thin Men were like "whoa, guys, srsly you didn't know we were infiltrating you? That's weird, hey, here have some copies of our plans and schematics and the whole history of our races. We totally thought you never complained because you were totally cool with the idea, and all this time you couldn't tell we were aliens, sorry about that!"
