Yes, mages should be able to spend 2 mana to increase their spell's Zap roll by 1.
Yes, mages should be able to spend 3 mana to increase their spell's Zap roll by 1.
Yes, mages should be able to spend 3 mana to increase their spell's Zap roll by 1, but doing this provokes a Luck roll: on a roll of 2 or less, the spell loses one Awk.
No, this is a very bad idea.
No, this is a somewhat bad idea, I have my own ideas. (Post in thread).

Turn Sixteen: Mundanity

INIT:
Avery(36+10=46)
Person(24+10=34)
Weremouse(25)

Avery takes the glass shards, spins them around a bit, then uses them to cut through the forgotten beast. Cut(3)... well... it's mostly out of the way, but the doorway is still clogged with meat. Run Through Anyway(I feel it's fair: 3) Avery attempts to push through the meat, with no success.

Person promptly turns to the weremouse, swinging his sword to its head. (4vs.6) Dang, that thing is fast.

The weremouse counters. (4vs.6+1=7) Person Bonus(6)... receiving a counter itself. (2vs.2) Which is promptly dodged.

Absurdity.

Well this is just silly.

Charge towards Avery! Try and make the mouse change targets while I attack!

Avery will say "Screw it" and he will run towards person, jumping on the table, grabing two bottles, he will then drink one and, still moving, he will hit person on the head with the other one, then immediately fire my fire gatling missile into his face at point-blank range.

((It's worth noting that life is working out better than I expected. My posting might be slowed but the game will go on.))

Turn Three: Life, Glass, Fails.

INIT:
Ejiro(30-10=20)
Conein(43+10=53)

Conein's natural speed prevails once again, as he immediately unloads a Magic Arrow spell against Ejiro.
Zap(3+1=4)
Awk(3+2=5)

A small arrow(thankfully not a toothpick) is fired at Ejiro. (6vs.6-1-2=3) Ejiro's lack of dodging ability and the slipperiness underneath his feet betray him. (4vs.2+2=4) Of course, one does not need to dodge when one can grab arrows out of the air.

Conein(1) grabs a bottle, then realizes it's plastic. A plastic water bottle. Full of acid. It's melting. (6) Conein promptly chucks it at Ejiro. (5vs.6-1-2=3) (2vs.1+2=3) Ejiro's robes sizzle. No pain? No injury?

Ejiro grabs his shards, arranging them in a deadly configuration, then charging into melee. (5vs.3+1=4) (6-1=5vs.1+1(shield)=2) Ejiro Critical(4) Conein notices that one of Ejiro's shards is embedded in his chest. In fact, that's all the shards. Ejiro seems to be pulling down on the shards, attempting to cut Conein in two or something. (4-1=3vs.6+1(shield)=7)  Thankfully the shards fail to cut very far downward, but Conein feels the injury regardless. (Chest-ground, -1 to dodge, -2 to damage resist for chest.)

Ejiro(1) grabs a glass bottle. It promptly falls to bits.

Random Event(4).

Turn Seventeen: Inversion of Luck, Squared and Dwarved.

INIT:
Avery(27+10=37)
Person(15+10=25)
Weremouse(38)

The Weremouse is the first to act(barely), sending its claws streaking towards Person's chest.
(1vs.2+1=3) Person's acrobatic skills prevail once again. ((How many ways can I say that you dodged successfully?))

Avery attempts to harness his newfound motive powers. Synchrony(6) And he does so quite effectively. Avery promptly leaps upon the table, grabbing two mugs at once, chugging one(3 Tougha)(6 Willpower), ignoring the grumbles and twists that result(-1 to Awk this turn), attempting to thwack Person with the other one(2vs.6+1=7) and immediately losing his flow as Person(Person Luck: 4)(2vs.4-1=3) nearly sends a sword slash across his arm. The mug is dropped. The spell is not(-1 to cast for multi-action).

Zap(2+4-1=5)
Awk(2-1-1-1=-1)

(5+2(point blank fail)=7vs.5-1=4) Flames sear across Avery's gut. Agh. Will(1)... there goes consciousness. (now unconscious, next turn. Unconsciousness means no action and -3 to dodge. You may attempt to wake up.)

Person rejoices at his luck. Avery is right at his feet, unconscious and badly wounded! Person takes a few steps back, then charges. (4vs.1(really, random.org?)+1-3-1=-2) (2+1-1(really bad dodge)=2vs. 4-1=3(gut). Person Crit(6) All things considered, that should have killed Avery. He was very lucky to have the blade glance off his gut. Not so lucky to receive incineration. Something about that sword is abnormal. Obviously. (now on fire. gut wound aggravated.)

Random Event(1) Goodness, it's almost as though- "CAVE-IN!!!" There goes the ceiling. Person Luck(4)... shards of rubble slice at Person's shoulders, but he's mostly unharmed. Avery Luck(6) Avery is spared by luck for once, receiving no harm whatsoever(beyond the adamantine spear dropped upon his chest). Weremouse Luck(3) The weremouse is much worse off. The slices it received were much, much worse- but left it functional.

The dust clears, and what the two conscious beings in the dining hall see is a dwarf. A dwarf miner, digging in from the side. "Um... hellao! How goes life- please don't hurt me please don't hurt me-"

"Everything is fine, don't worry. I just need to kill this guy real quick. I have no problem with you."

Finish Avery off with a giant laser beam. It's the only way to be sure.

Turn Four: Stab Stab Grab Stab

INIT:
Ejiro(42-10=32)
Conein(53+10=63)

Conein acts first again. A few gestures, and magic forms between his hands.
Zap(1+1=2)
Awk(2+2=4)
The spell takes hold, reaching towards Ejiro's mind and-(Luck: 1) confusing any thoughts that were in Ejiro's way. (auto-five for bottle grab roll). That could have been better.
(2) The bottle is glass. It is also empty.

Ejiro grabs the arrow and slams it into Conein's chest. (4vs.1+1-1=1) (1vs. 1+1-2=0) Ejiro Luck(6) Ejiro fails to make much of a mark. So he just leaves the arrow embedded in Conein's right lung(although not very deeply). (... yeah, you're going to need willpower to avoid penalties.)
(5) Ejiro grabs just the right bottle-full of life-giving beer. (full glass beer bottle gained.)

Random Event(3) Space Game! No.

Turn Eighteen: The Beginning of the End- Unless Something Wyrd Happens.

INIT:
Avery(31+10=41)
Person(22+10=32)
Weremouse(19)

Avery is the first to try to think- wait, burn first. (Tougha: 3(-2 to gut)) Avery's body receives some crispness. Avery's gut is beginning to smell like some horrible pot roast. (Pot Roast Gut, -3 to gut Tougha, -2 to dodge, at this point the pain on its own requires a will roll of 4 or higher to act without physical penalties(-1 to all physical rolls). At this point it's nearly a mortal wound.) Avery tries, unconsciously, to wake. (3). Sadly, for him, he cannot wake(but his mental pain doesn't get worse).

Person points at Avery, a grin on his face. Thus the end comes.

Zap(2+2=4)
Awk(4)

A mediocre effort, but a successful one nonetheless. (5vs.4+1-2(Pot Roast Gut)-3(Unconscious)=0) Person Luck(5) Straight to the gut! (4vs. 2-3(Pot Roast Gut)=-1) Avery Luck(6) The pain- it blinks, it shouts- but Avery holds it back. He is awake. But... he sees someone. A man. Holding a sword. "HELLO THERE." (Gut Vaporization Apocalypse Pot Roast Salad: -4 to gut Tougha, -3 to dodge, 5 or higher Will to act. You will die at the end of next turn.) Person looks upon Avery as Avery stands, not willing, but wanting, with his life, to get off one last shot.

The Weremouse stares at Avery, the impossible. The impossible. That's not stopping it from continuing his attack, though. (5vs.4+1=5) Person Luck(6) Person moves into the blow and sends an elbow to the Weremouse's head. The Weremouse is now lying prone.

Random Event(2)

The dwarf miner is staring at Avery the Awesome.

Spoiler: Avery (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Person (click to show/hide)
((On a lower luck roll for Avery he would be completely unable to act or dead.))
