Now that's definitely an option, but then there's the ethics concern. There are other races, and most nearby ones have the ability to see who nuked the sun and killed billions of people. Gotta make sure I do it in a way that doesn't tip them off and piss off the allies that have empathy.

Well obviously that's the final goal. The issue is getting a ship with a starbreaker into the system, nuking the sun, and not getting it detected by anyone.

Did I mention cloaking devices don't exist? Ships get way to hot for something like that to work. A cloaking device would result in it melting internally and the crew frying.

..Although. A hopcapable missile might work. Just launch it from a neutral system.

Because at this stage of the game, most systems have hop capable antiship weapons? Hard to launch from an enemy system.

Not plausible. No cloaking devices because scientifically unfeasible. Highpowered sensors would detect.

((Sounds like a 4x game I played once. Space Empires... IV I think is the one I played, mostly? Didn't model supernovas blowing up other stars, tho. You can on the other hand turn stars into black holes, cause them to go supernova and destroy everything, build ring/sphere worlds around them...))

((There are a few games that are sorta like this but not rts. Wayward Terran Frontier is the one closest to it that I'm currently interested in. But it isn't rts, nor is it out yet.))

The issue with that is there would be sensors in most directions. Hard to hide in the shadow when something is watching behind the shadow. Also the moment the missile hops, it'll be detected.
