Eh, I've tasted Irish Whiskey, doesn't taste well.
I'd imagine the aftertaste of the alcoholic beverage would be unbearable.

Straight spirits are either for shots or the alcoholic (like myself). There's plenty of good-tasting party drinks and mixes out there, not to mention cocktails and light blends for the weak of heart.

Hangovers can also be easily avoided by either drinking a lot of water before going to bed, or by investing in some hangover cure, which is a thing now.

Meh, takes too much to get me drunk and It exacerbates my problems going to the bathroom, so I generally avoid it except for special occasions. Still have a metric fuckton of moonshine sitting around in the fridge.
