Roll to Die: The End of Times

Roll to Die

The End of Times has come.

For thousand of years, this world lived to its fullest. Different races waged wars on each other, civilizations were raised and fell under the sands of time. Magical beast roamed its lands, while powerful magicians experimented with earth-shattering powers. But now... Now it's time for this world to die and give way to a new one. Death himself has decreed this.

Servants of the Death already cleared most of the world from life, but in the end, it was deemed unnecessary for all mortals to die by their hands. So, a Final Battle of sorts was arranged - for the world to end in a blaze of carnage and glory instead of simply vanquishing into nothingness.

Death is all but inevitable... But for how long would you survive?

Science is always important. But it needs more flaming cats. Can't we build bridge-based catapults and fling flaming cats at the dust and goo?

It's time for the ATHATH Death Counter to increase once more in celebration for the end of the world.

This is a game born from a sudden idea. Still, I hope for it to continue and evolve for as long as there is an interest. This is by no means a 'just' game. Nearly everything depends on luck, but it's still your decisions that could turn the situation upside down. Feel free to have fun while trying not to die!

Post reserved for future applications.

Of course. Take your time.

I'm thinking about taking up to sixteen different characters at first (one player can play both Labyrinth and Arena if he wishes so). As there is close to none of player interaction at first, updates could be fast-paced and as we have all the time of this dying world, posting for each update is not obligatory. If there are some actions and I want to update - I update. This will probably change further into the game.

Added Mesa, small description after spells shows what you can hope to normally achieve with them.

-1/3 penalty to movement means that in battle, there is 4/12 chance for speed drop. It also slightly affects general movement speed.

Hovering is fine, while full-fledged flight is not as interesting.

Re Spell Descriptions. Ah righty. With portal, I was thinking more physical portals, for physics fun and cutting people in half by summoning portals that bisect them. The other two are fine.

I noticed you said we could have two characters so edited a second one into my post.

I think it's still far too early for you to use portals like that. But with some training - it's certainly possible. For now, have a limited control over battlefield.

I should note that, while dagger has -1 Parry, using it to Parry alongside shortsword would yield good results.

I somehow missed how attributes work. Would it be fine if I modified mine, since mechanically magic 6 and 7 gives the same effect?

What exactly do you mean by Blink? Shortrange teleportation like warcraft?

Of course. As long as you're not already inside Labyrinth/Arena - you can modify whatever you want.

Yes, precisely. Semi-controlled means that you won't arrive exactly at the place you want to, but direction would be proper and, maybe, even distance. Better not use it for millimetrically precise transition yet.

Yep, why not? Slow-moving tank. It has its bonuses and maluses.
