Spit yourself off. It will shoot you far enough out that you don't instantly die and lets you keep your score.

We were too similar to nom each other and too smart to split.

I got up to 1503 points, 8 on the scoreboard, but I stopped getting bigger.  What's up with that? 

Also I figured out some tips to survive:

• Get big.  The bigger you are the fewer people can split to eat you.
• Stay small.  Not really good advice, but splitting is risky and people wont' do it if you're too small.  Of course this only works as a deterrent, not a defense.  If he does it anyway he'll regret it later, but that won't make you not dead.
• Stay between two big guys if you can, they won't split into each other
• Hang around the spikeballs.  Not only are they safe territory (though again only a deterrent) but sometimes stupid people will think they're small enough to hide in a spikeball and blow up, giving you a bunch of free food.
