I noticed I still had the traffic mod active, so I guess it's compatible with saves from other versions. Yeah, it's the Traffic Report Tool.

THE SAVE.

Write-up is going to be a doozy. I think... maybe... I'm not a good mayor.

Ah, Mayor again! Let's just see how the city has been doing since I last oh shit
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Okay. Um. Hm.

The first order of business is to add two more hospitals and five crematoriums.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Don't forget to keep the parking brake on.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It looks like time for some of my patented Interesting traffic solutions!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Yes, much better! Not only does the traffic flow, but it looks patently absurd. Just the way I like it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Large scale abandonment is still a problem. Between that and significant health/death care expansions, our weekly budget is far in the red. The mines are suffering especially.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Soon the skies will grow dark with the smoke of the dead. At least, I hope that happens soon, because out buildings are full of corpses. Thanks, Karlito.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It only took three months, but the death problem is mostly taken care of. We've un-forbidden all the socks lying about the abandoned buildings, and it's only a matter of time until they are reclaimed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Now it's time to address that worthless forestry district. Every building there is either operated entirely by overeducated workers, or abandoned. I told you guys chopping wood was unfit work! I'm de-zoning the entire thing to make way for residential areas.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Hey, was Elitist Island always misspelled?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It's come to my attention that this city has a terrible lack of parks. Time to knock down houses and place a few!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Now that we have a bouncy castle, people will move in for sure.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
There's a ton of traffic coming out of Elitist Island that's backed up. The intersections are way too dense.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This, uh, seems to be better. Maybe.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Now citizens are flying between the sidewalk and elevated bridge. Huh.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Huzzah! About a million dollars later, I have undone what Karlitos has done! The city grows again! With monuments unlocked, it's time to plop down some more Unique buildings.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Yes, Unique! This is the most unique looking mall.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Restoring normal tax rates after Karlito's desperate bid to keep people from moving out sees my income jump from about 2,500 a week to about 50,000 a week. Megaprojects, here we come!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
In preparation for large new zoning, I move the power plant that supports the sewage pumps out into its own secluded corner of nowhere.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I've begun a large expansion north of the old forestry area. Because the mines and even fully upgraded forge district are all full of over-educated workers, I've decided to build a large office area.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Since offices thrive on services, I add a small metro line in addition to a bus route.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Traffic circles for the traffic god! Making this took like ten minutes, the road tools can be uncooperative sometimes.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The Heights are getting a stadium! They didn't ask for it, but they're getting it. This unlocks the Space Elevator! Sadly, that costs one and a half million dollars.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Months later, the Heights also get a university. Yes, we've finally reached the need for two!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
After a few iterations, I've come upon the design for this traffic circle lemniscate squid monster. It might be ugly, but it certainly gets traffic where it needs to go somewhere.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It is December now. Soon I will retire to my shack in the mountains next to the power plant, with my red sports car, and wait until some other mayor fucks it up again. Wait- that's not my sports car! It belongs to Willow Miller, who lives in the houses next to the gold mines, and works on Working Joe Island! Why the hell is he parked there?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Yes, it says he's at home. You can just see the dirt road up to the power plant where he's parked, way out in the distance.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Well, I've made a lot of traffic improvements, and I've grown the city to 78,000 people. I was struggling for space, it may be time to expand into the wide flat zones into the south or west. There is still ample power, water, civic services and education, and the city is bringing in money enough for the next mayor to build a Space Elevator. Lastly, I would like to say that while I have not always been efficient in designing roadways, allegations that I spend city street funds on some kind of personality vanity project are completely spurious. Oh yeah, and just FYI, I turned off a bunch of crematoriums so we can fill up three graveyards to unlock some unique building or another. I think that's the last thing we need for a fusion reactor.

Nice!  I'm pretty tired right now, so I will probably get to this tomorrow night, unless someone else wants to jump in.

Ah good, it looks like the old poop water stopped back-flowing. I wonder how much effort it would take to construct a completely separate water grid to pump it all out into the volcano.

This is a great idea and I love you.

I just thought about something... maybe you can use pumps to drain the small lakes on the bottom of the volcano, to get more buildable land? they look shallow.
