Hello there folks, and welcome to Dead of Winter.
Dead of Winter is originally a pretty ingenious board game where a group of five players try to survive in the blasted frozen hellhole of a post-apocalypse suburban town. The fun part is that inbetween a common goal to win the game, each player also needs to fulfill a secret goal, which might be rather harmless and not hinder the group at all or might be an actual betrayer goal which spells the downfall of the group, furthermore players can get exiled in which case they get exiled goals.
Inbetween you have to deal with starvation, waste, zombies and most of all frostbite, terrible, terrible frostbite. Due to the Players Colony being apparently somewhere in Canada the constant cold is a problem and every action outside done outside may lead to deadly frostbite.
And as if that is not enough there are also old people, children and generally useless folk (considering that one of the providing characters is a drunk mall santa with a penchant for using broken bottles as weapons, tells us much about what kind of people is considered useless here.)
We're hopefully going to play this here although with some modifications.
First of all i will up the ante from 5 players to 10, but reducing the number of heroes a bit to not let the game get too big.
Furthermore the Colony will be persistent and after each completed main goal we will go to the next episode...and potentially the next season.
As things progress you will inevitably run out of supplies, but fret not there will be a bunch of locations more to loot. Although it may take longer to arrive there.
On top of all that later missions will include the building of things like greenhouses, water purifiers, solar energy arrays and so forth.
Okay okay, so how does this game work and how can i sign up?Signing up is easy, just write me a pm that you are interested and i will send you 4 Character Cards from which you choose one. Over the course of the game you may get more characters and add them to your pool. Each Character gives you one action more. So per turn you have one action and another one for each character.
Here you can read the Rules for the Game.
