[That depends on the quality of your steel, which is currently not very good.]

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

[My apologies for the late update, it's been a weird couple days.]

The Stranger, rather sardonically, aids Patham in getting up the stairs. After about the two hundredth step, he finds that the cylinder of knotted scar tissue through the muscle of his calf makes the need of help mutual, at least to avoid cramping.

The two would-be engineers, still boozing in their cavern shack, consider more down-to-earth mechanical projects.

Foreman Murdoc, leaving the wounded sharpshooter in temporary command with orders to begin collecting the slain for their later burial, takes a lever-carbine and one of the soldiers from the caverns, still toting his rattler, on a patrol of the interior halls, to search for scraps of unlife or particularly-skilled infiltrators.

Aside from a few animate chunks of gore, readily destroyed with a splash of dwarven booze and a spark, no dastardly skulking is apparent, so they return to the surface in time to encounter the two magi as they reach the top of the stairwell.

[Steam engineering is much more likely to work and/or be dorfy than badly-made guns.]

Having helped the person who attempted to murder him using his pet, He'd go check over where he was originally put for what little belongings of his were left.

[well guess waht, ive been thinking of real long steamlaunchers,]

[Various steam-based weapons are quite feasible. The Confederates actually tried to make a steam machine gun, and some missiles use steam to launch them from the silo before main engine start. For that matter, high-pressure, high-temperature steam released in narrow jets can cut wood or flesh pretty handily.]

[Also, seriously, please work on your spelling/grammar, it hurts the eyes as-is.]

The magus attempts to pass the Stranger a small dose of Healing Canteen infused liquid if the Canteen is not currently in use.

[Updop soon, I'm currently helping set up a christmas tree.]

[Additionally, the reason I'm humoring Gwolf's engineering silliness is that everything I've seen him consider is actually physically possible to attempt, if not to actually get working. On the other hand, I don't think the same really applies to magic. This is obviously entirely open to discussion, as long as it goes to the OOC thread rather than clogging the main thread.]

Patham, seeing that the canteen of healing has been used on everybody who needs it, pours a couple of shots, the finest dwarven whiskey of course, to allow for use to disinfect wounds or raise morale, for himself and the Stranger. As the last drops fall into the Stranger's cup, magic fizzles around the Corporate canteen's incongruous carbopolymer body, igniting a wisp of alcohol vapor. The enchantment has, for one reason or another, failed.

The Stranger, temporarily avoiding Net's offer, walks over to check on his belongings with the caravan. Aside from some charred spots, the caravan appears untouched.  It would seem everybody was too busy fighting to mess with it.
