[Frankly, I'm happy to let him try. He's making an ill-conceived mechanical prototype, I'd be hypocritical if I tried to stop him, and as long as it's physically possible to build the thing, I'm not forcing him to stop. I do expect a fairly good explanation of how he thinks it works, but it should be fun.]
