"What's astral projection?"

"I don't think my dad would approve."

....She is lucky at this point the magic is protecting her from a second assault.

At least until I can think of a good one.

Tohru blinks.
"What's astral projection?"

Tohru frowned.
"I don't think my dad would approve."

"Why not? Just tell your dad you are going to a sleep over! We can do a bunch of fun things. Light as a feather, stiff as a board _{(Well, mostly the second part....)}, truth or dare, and of course I astral projection! Why would he have problems with any of that?"

Tohru gasps.
"Great idea! I'll ask him right now."
She whips out her phone and quickly writes in a number. It's pretty clear that that number is the number for the police force of Neo Kyoto.

Po-police force? Her dad is a cop? Badbadnotgood. Anike warned me about cops. I would be breaking soooo many promises if I interacted with him too long, and if he sees my face or hears my name I....No, that is just paranoia. Calm down Karma, just calm down and...

"TEACHER TEACHER TOHRU IS TALKING ON THE PHONE DURING CLASS! She must have her phone confiscated immediately. I am sorry Tohru, but you know how important rules are to me. We must all follow them to the letter."

Karma tries taking the phone from her hand and deleting the numbers. If successful, he walks to the front of the class and plops it on the teacher's desk.

Tohru whips the phone away from him, confused. She puts the phone away.
"Oh, okay. I'll just ask him later. Is it fine, Miss Aisaka?"
"Well, lesson time has not started proper yet. You may keep your phone, Miss Furukawa."

Mizure, who has been in the class the entire duration of the school year and has simply done nothing of note up to this point, sighs.
"I am so confused."

"Karma's bent out of shape because he didn't know Tohru's dad was a cop.

And not just a cop. He's the commissioner of the police force here in the city."

Virgil walks back in after telling a nurse about Karma's seeming mental break. He's down to half a steak.

"Thank you, person who's name I can't remember." she says, going back to what she had been doing. Nobody can see, but lots of pencil scratching and occasionally eraser sounds are audible. She then looks up again. "When's class starting?"

Miss Aisaka looks up.
"Alright, class. It's time to begin. Are we all here today?"

Closing the notebook she had been using, Mizure says "Mizure Kayaba, present."

Phew. Dodged a bullet there. "Don't tell the police anything about me. About any of us. Especially not about yourself.". "Stay out of too much trouble." "Don't talk to cops, if you can help it"....there where more, weren't there? As long as I am not in the room when the call is made, I am golden. Sorry for getting so close, Aniki, it is hard to bail myself out of things like this. I don't know how you managed to keep it up.
