"Good. You're dismissed, then. Go find the rest of our pilots for final briefing. We ride in about a half hour." She says.

Tonya thinks. Oh yeah, the other Tonya. Too old to be named after me, thank Amitiel. Couldn't remember much about her. Average scores in training-nothing really stood out, good or bad. Understand now why they called the recruiters nicknamed her 'Bombshell'. What to make of the casual tone. Let it go for now. Probably just nerves.

"Ensign Marya. Nothing major for you to concern yourself with.

Did you need to speak to me about something?" She says patiently.

"No ma'am. I was just going around to aquiant myself with my fellow pilots. Is good to know your team, yes?"

"Your squad is your family, we say in the Core. We're all in this together...so, yeah. Good to know. Can't say I know much about you, though. Your dossier was pretty sparse-I got yours in poor condition. Blame the crocked navy rats-that's what I do. Amitiel knows they can't even haul papers around, much less fight a war.

So, ever seen any action? How did you end up here, anyway?" She asks, settling her attention on Marya.

Marya smiles at the questions.
"Funny you should ask that, I actually was in a different mechanized infantry unit before this. Most of my team had their mechs blown into such a condition that it'd be easier to replace them than fix them I was lucky wnough to have my mech survive and so I came here... just between you and me though, I'm glad I didn't have my Dragan destroyed, it would be a pain to recustomise the seat to comfortably fit me."
Tonya smiles and stretches, tilting to the side as she does so. When she stops and stands up straight.
"Oh, and a few years before that I was a mechanic. They had me do a lot of recruiting posters as well. I'm quite proud of that!"

"I'd imagine you were. I was much like you once, in that regard. Started as a Mech-Jockey as a young woman, and found my way into the service from there. It was all field work, more or less. I have a thing for customization myself." She says, off-hand, with a small smile. It's true-paint job, seat, cup holder, leg space, control consoles. Tonya A. had originally began her custom jobs because the cockpits were designed for taller, wider people. She suspected Tonya M. had the problem in reverse-not enough...headroom, sure. Huh. That silhouette does sort look of distinctive-probably seen it in alot of lockers.

Tonya remembered when they had offered her money to do the posters, too. She had turned them down.

"So, you said your team was incapped. How did that happen? Did they all make it out?" Shifting the tone of the conversation.

Rumman throws the senior Tonya an amused glance, then claps the younger Tonya energetically on the shoulder. 'Family indeed! Rumman Aulgotha, glad to meet you. I'll be raining hell down for you wherever you need it. Or is one of the other Hamkars yours?' he says. A wry smile spreads on his features. 'Recruiting posters, huh? You wouldn't be responsible for that awful 'YOUR KING STANDS BEHIND YOU' staring-eyes hack-job of a poster, would you?'
