Trevor nods.

Mydoki too had trickled back from the hangar, her mech in order. To stay longer would be against regulations, after all.

Trevor nods.
"That's correct, ma'am. A trident."

"Humm, it's used for fishing, right...where do you come from? Carol Quay? The Narrows? Summer Strait?" She says, making time.

"I'm actually from the capital, ma'am. I chose the symbol after the attack on my unit during basic training. It symbolizes the three survivors of the attack besides the drill sergeant."

"Well...forgive me if my tone was a bit grim. I've lost a lot of friends in my career, as well."

Sean rounds up all the pilots not in the hangar and sends them there.

"I try not to dwell on it too much, ma'am. One of the victims, actually, was my best friend. Practically a brother to me... But I'll make new brothers and sisters here in the squad, so I try to stay optimistic."

With the technicians finished with the work on her mech and Sean having gone in to fetch her, Catherine walks out of the repair bay into the hanger proper, joining a rapidly-growing crowd of pilots as they chatted amongst themselves.

Thankfully with most of the squad admiring their mechs it's easy for Sean to assemble the team once the allotted hour is up. The mechanists fill the mechs' tanks to max capacity, and then the squad sets out on their assigned patrol route. Everything was planned out ahead of time by Mech Command and as such the patrol goes smoothly. No Edo forces were encountered on the first few legs of the patrol, and the countryside has been long deserted before the 25th arrived. It's obvious why Terralba wants part of Edo for itself for the weather is warm and pleasant, and the squad passes through many prosperous villages and well-tended rice paddies on their assigned route. Only the occasional glimpse of scouts and the deserted houses reveals the fact that things aren't as peaceful as they seem.

Near the end of the patrol the Edo military finally decides to show themselves and contest the invaders moving so boldly through their lands. As the 25th passes through some unnamed village on their way back to base,  the tedium of a quiet patrol is broken by the pinging of the Harbringers' sensors. Soon visual contacted is established, as a group of Qalupaliks rush out of cover. Assaulting mechs returning to base to capitalize on their nearly empty fuel tanks is a tactic that is as old as time itself. Yet the 25th's patrol route was made short in case such a situation arose, and so your robots still have enough fuel left for a battle. As such you can do nothing else but meet the challenge of the Edo military head-on!

MISSION 1: Needed Experience

Everyone's radios crackle with static as the leader of the Edo squad sends an open broadcast. "Surrender now and I promise to treat you fairly. But if you don't then I and my men won't hesitate to end you all!"

"Time to put my training to use...." Mydoki murmured to herself, only a slight shakiness to her voice. She swallowed, taking off her cap and smoothing her hair before she placed it back. The mass of her mech around her was comforting.

"Orders, Ma'am?" she broadcast over the radio.
