You know, depending on your point of view, you could consider Thursday night the weekend.
Kinda.

Just sayin'.

Don't worry, we'll wait here in the cold for an update.

Hey, MYIIM, I have some annoying questions for you!

1. Is it possible for me to cast some of my spells non-lethally? Edit: Yes, I know there's no non-lethal damage in 5th e (I think), but could my spells knock someone out if it made sense?

2. Is magic item crafting in? If so, how does it work in 5th ed? I want to replace all our parties weapons, with handheld rods of infinite fire bolts.

1. I'll allow that in certain situations. Not all spells can knock out (ie: Fire bolt), but some can (ie: Magic Missile).
2. A. You can't craft magical items until 3rd level. B. They cost 100 gp for common items, 500 for uncommon items, and so on. It takes 1 day per 25 gp to craft an item. C. Certain magical items might require certain conditions to be crafted in, for instance, a Sword of Flame Tongue needs lava to be forged.
3. Bulettes are above your CR. For now...

As for non-lethal attacks in general, according to what I heard, any time you enough damage to kill someone with physical weapon you can choose to cause them to be knocked out instead of killed if you wish.

If there's anything DF has taught me it's that getting shot in the head isn't all that bad anyway.

But no, all arrows fired unlethally are automatically retconned into hitting the knee.

If any of the party gets hit in the knee by an arrow, their adventuring days are over.

I could argue I've been shot in the head, though it was a richoect and didn't even break the skin.

So it's perfectly safe to get shot in the head. Go out and try it for yourselves

My marching orders distinctly say Johanna stays 120ft behind the party at all times!

Now, where did I put them...

Oh yeah, it may not be obvious, but remember we all have torches and things. Swarms tend to be pretty nasty at low levels, because they resist physical damage...
