Also, I think you shouldn't deduct me a spell slot there. It's a reaction move, which means I technically can choose to activate it, or not after I'm hit. By which I mean, why would I waste it trying to block a critical hit?

I only get what, two spells a day. Seems sort of mean to make me waste a spell, AND still get hit. I was sort of hoping it would trigger when it could actually prevent damage? Otherwise it's an entirely useless spell-I'll be wasting my slots on attacks...that will just hit me anyway. Not fun. I don't mind using it occasionally on the attacks I CAN negate.

My only contention is that, in a normal game, using reaction moves would be totally under my control-I wouldn't waste a spell on that. Obviously, in PbP game, we have to curtail this to keep things going, but I think you should apply my spells semi-intelligently to the situation at hand.
