Back in the PS1 days there was a game called LSD: Dream Emulator, it was a weird, sometimes horrible sometimes fascinating surreal cult classic.

And someone has made a updated remake of it for the PC[/url]

lsd dream emulator is one of THOSE GAMES that you're either going to hate the hell out of or love the hell out of. Similarish to yume nikki and it's various fangames (enough to unofficially be called the inspiration for those games), I'd say that if you have even a vague love for surreality and exploration based games, you should prooobably give this a shot.

Very unique game. I'll probably be grabbing it when it's finished developing, unless this means that they've finished porting it? Or is it in an unfinished state?

I remember seeing a let's play of this before. Looked pretty odd; then again, I like exploration games. They're oddly rewarding. I mean, Kairo has a nifty environments despite being bland texturing and intense lighting for places (one good chunk of the game makes for an awesome place to chill out in to listen to tunes, since it looks like a nightclub of sorts, complete with dance floor and DJ booth if you look at it right.), Fract OSC is like classic Tron built around a synthesizer for music; and you can use said synth to make more music; and so on.

This game, I'm not certain about yet. I'll need to actually play it before I can really provide any real input, and find other uses for. I wonder how it would play while on a drug trip?

I never actually played it, a PC release would be a good opportunity for people who don't collect obscure PlayStation games.

it is in an open alpha so it is not complete yet, but the dev is working on it though.

I have to say, this doesn't look like any LSD I've ever taken

I played some of it.
That was nightmarish.
How much have they figured out? I'm guessing basic randomization and a few maps, but not any of the actual creatures/monsters/weird things etc.

It's missing a fair bit. There's a lot of props and detail items missing when I've seen areas I've recognized. And the new music and sound effects aren't as good.

Promising though given how funky LSD runs on a PSX

To get technical, the LSD stands for "lovely sweet dream" (I think), as far as the game is concerned.

That's not terribly accurate either, though.
