My reason is I like foxes.

I was actually debating between Kumiho and Windego. Decided Kumiho would be more fun.

I'm surprised no one was thinking of a Merrow or those Irish muse things.

It's not like there isn't plenty of things in European Mythology to choose. Weidergängers. Ettins. Basalisks. Ichneumon. Spriggan. For a few things off the top of my head.

Weidergangers are not dopplegangers. Weidergangers could arise from the dead if they were mourned too much, which prevented them from moving on. They'd leap from graves and force passerbys to carry them out of the graveyard, but their weight increased each step until the carrier collapsed or died.

I didn't feel I'd have to mention dragons or greek mythology. But there's norse, too, with it's metal boars and world-spanning serpents. Hell, just google '[country] mythology'.

Anything but more misplaced Asian mythology.

Weidergangers sound like rather unpleasant undead.

What happens if they get carried out of the graveyard?

We'll. I don't know jack shit about any type of mythology (other then hp love crafts mythos of course, now that would be a interesting character...) But I do have access to Google and Wikipedia, which I am pretty sure is the highest of professional accreditation.

I'm going to try to make a character based around a crocodile monster, because that sounds cool. Aztec mythology has a  crocodile/fish/toad monster/god/it'srottingcorpseisactuallyistheearthwestandon type deal, added bonus is that he has just a whole mess of mouths. Which sounds cool. His monstrous nature is clearly going to be cannibalism. But I can't decide between suave cannibal Hannibal Lecter style, or crazy mad cannibal type...

Anything but more misplaced Asian mythology.

I mean, I'm all for using more obscure mythology and such, but what's your issue with non European mythology again? We're on team USA, there's clearly going to be people from every nationality in our ranks. Sure, mostly European, but people from all over the world are going to be involved. Practically speaking even, as the dregs (we are the third wave after all), it makes even more sense for us to be a sorta more random mishmash as all the low hanging fruit has already been picked.

Note too, south Korea and Japan are close allies to the US. It makes a lot of sense for those two nationalities in particular (fuck, probably even more then Europians) to have their myths represented.

Name: Daniel Stonley
Country of origin: Amarica
Monster ancestor: Bahamut

Potentials
You have 500 points of potential to distribute. Nice multiples of ten are appreciated.

Strength: 90 - fairly obvious: affects hit chance / damage with melee weapons, and smask=hing stuff.
Constitution: 300 - how much damage you can take, resistance to poison and disease, and endurance.
Dexterity: 10 - Ability to dodge melee attacks, and stealth and stealth related abailities.
Charisma: 90 - Social skills, the ability to charm and manipulate.
Perception: 10 - How sharp your senses are, and how steady your aim with firearms is
Willpower: 100 (cannot add points)

Attunements all begin at 5%
-----

Beginning trait: Delayed reaction, He does not react to pain or damage quickly, and poisons, while just as effective, also take longer to traverse his bloodstream. This causes his damage to not be marked down until a few turns later in combat, and status effects to have a delayed reaction before beginning.

Description: A Tall and well muscled african American, with major anger issues and a slight mental retardation, which causes him to seemingly lash out at people for no reason, when in reality is it because of things that he remembers people doing or saying, that he at the time was unable to realize. aside from his delayed reaction to verbal and physical provocation he is of average intelligence.

Backstory: After an especially bloody series of murders, attempts were made to subdue and capture him, although causing any immediate harm was difficult, eventually through looking at his medical records, they simply locked him up before he realized that they had attacked. after a long conversation, over several days, he agreed to join this group in an effort to escape a life prison sentence, or even death.

His childhood was full of trauma that he was not able to respond to, the attacks and insults of bullies seemed to wash over him like water off a duck's back, But in reality, he was only "Human" and felt the full pain of their actions and words later, driving him to become a very hateful person, willing to do anything to Retaliate at his Bullies. His thick skinned attitude eventually led them to simple leave him alone, but by then it was too late, he was in the full throes of anger at sleights that to him seems as though they were now happening. Expelled from his school for no less than an outright beatdown without provocation, he took to crime, landing a rather cushy job at punch drunk boxing competitions, but the insulting nature of this sport only drove him further into the depths of slow rage against all the people around him.

While medicines may help his troubles, the Blood of the world fish still flows through his veins, and the strongest being in the world certainly had no need of a strong mind, though Daniel wishes it were not so.

(He can respond to the world around him, But he is thinking about things that happened minutes, or even hours ago, so it is like talking to someone who is currently having a conversation. at it's worst he can go a whole day or two without realizing that something happened.)

This looks really cool. I'll give the character sheet a go.

--WORK IN PROGRESS (Not really anymore, just fluffing)--

Name: Darev Huger
Country of origin: Germany
Monster ancestor: Fenrir

Potentials
You have 500 points of potential to distribute. Nice multiples of ten are appreciated.

Strength: 130 - fairly obvious: affects hit chance / damage with melee weapons, and smask=hing stuff.
Constitution: 100 - how much damage you can take, resistance to poison and disease, and endurance.
Dexterity: 100 - Ability to dodge melee attacks, and stealth and stealth related abilities.
Charisma: 20 - Social skills, the ability to charm and manipulate.
Perception: 150 - How sharp your senses are, and how steady your aim with firearms is
Willpower: 100 (cannot add points)

Attunements all begin at 5%
-----

Beginning trait: Wolf's nose: Can smell odors from ??miles??(needs balancing?) off and remember certain scents.

Description: A tall, well muscled German, Darev stands at almost 2 metres, being quite tall. He has a slight tick in his right eye and an uncanny ability to know if you are around the corner because of his smell. He often bends down to inspect tracks and makes unpleasant sniffs when he is tracking something.

Backstory: Darev Huger was born into a small and poor family, leading him to resort to poaching to help his family live. Eventually, after he moved away to another country, he started doing it for fun. It was at about this point he realized he had an amazing sense of smell; when the police came after him, he somehow knew where they were before they got within sight, and jumped into his car for a quick escape. Eventually they caught him; a man can only do so much of being a fugitive. They started noticed his sense of smell because he was somehow standing at his cell's door everyday when breakfast came around. And he knew what it was, too. Scientists concluded that he actually did have an uncanny sense of smell, and so he was conscripted into the last forces of the Allies for his ability to know what was coming, and how quickly.

Oh yes, those. Yeah, instead of being a psycho she has a serious mental illness. I swear at some point my character is gonna have to yell 'y'all muthafuckas need jesus'.

Actually, Bjorke also has "just" a serious mental illness. :I
I mean, if there were a way to safely set great fires, without people loosing their lives, or himself getting caught, he totally would only do that. Maybe. Even more of a maybe if he is in a manic phase. Compulsive disorder, y'see. ;3

Wiedergänger, Wights, Draugr - there are actually a lot of those self-reanimating undead in european mythology - some even believed to be righteous in their quest. Vampires actually also belong to these undead, just that they were willfully portrayed differently in central europe as to have more story appeal. Right; Vampire Veggies. Good one. Either way, there are many european myths, which are somewhat forgotten or ignored nowadays. Minus greek myth, which might be the most explored fable setting there is.

New sheets looking good, but a couple of points.

@Shadestyle: Whilst a 0 score works, and wouldn't actually be all that rare on a normal human, it would become increasingly disadvantageous as the game went on. Nothing that has to be changed, but just to think about.

@Pencil_Art: For the trait, I'm thinking a starting range of ~100m, maybe a tad more, and scaling with attunement?
Also, I wouldn't have said 5'3'' was quite tall :P Likely a typo?

-----

But yeah, European myth is pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure in England there's an entire class of creatures who exist solely to confuse people. Though I was both surprised and impressed when I saw a Black Dog character :)
