I suppose I might as well ask for a recommendation here, but could anyone point me to a decent fantasy book that's actually, y'know, fantastical? Like not yet another rehash of Tolkeins ideas. Something fairly unique. Game of Thrones is cool, but a bit dense.

Roger Zelazny - The Chronicles of Amber decalogy? It is really a classic from the olden times.

I am currently reading Memories of Ice of the Malazan's saga. I love the books but they are very long.
I am planning to re-read aSoIaF after completing Malazan, but I want to re-read before the next Martin's book so I hope it will be sooner than that.

Just realised I misunderstood the question. 'Kaladin' isn't anything in Dwarven, but 'Anrizlokum' is 'Skyspear'.

Can I repurpose this slightly as a "what would I like to read" thread?

I'm not sure if this was a suptg copypasta or if someone was describing an actual book. I've done some Googling but couldn't find anything but this, which is not what I'm thinking of. I also don't have a whole lot of info about it, either.

Humanity has finally reached the stars. Our region (arm of the galaxy? I'm not sure) is full of ruins of ancient civilizations, but we've found no living sapient beings.

We do eventually find other spacefaring beings when we leave our region. I don't recall if the ship that was used for first contact was a salvaged war vessel (patchwork, rusty, plays into the crazy stereotype in the next sentence) or if it was one of our own design, but it had a busted communicator (why maintain them if there's nothing to communicate with?). This led the other species to believe that we were crazy, just like every other intelligence that arose in our region. Once we learn about the reputation that our area has, we play it up and do everything in our power to keep the other species from learning the truth about us. Or maybe we actually are crazy and don't know it.

I started reading Twinmaker today(got it from a humble bundle).  Seems good so far, takes place in a future where teleportation pods and matter fabricators are a common technology.

I've been reading creepypastas again, goodbye sleep. On another note I've also been reading The Dwarves by Markus Heitz it's pretty good so far and there was one plot twist pretty early on which, was well executed in my opinion.
