Who am I kidding, he's got no real chance of being lynched

The Whiteboard
pisskop: Cheeetar, Jim Groovester, Persus13, Scripten, Shakerag, UXLZ
Scripten: zombie urist, Tiruin, Toaster
Tiruin: pisskop, Deus Asmoth, notquitethere

After long hours of deliberation, it is decided that pisskop must die. Persus13 picks up the rifle and points it at him.

"Look! Guys, really. I'm no monster! I'm just here to write an article. I swear!"

"Yeah, well, if you were a dopp you'd say the same thing." Persus levels the rifle. "We're not buying it." With a bang pisskop crumples to the ground, blood quickly staining the front of his shirt.

After a few tense moments, you realize that he's not going to change into a monster. Looks like he was human, after all. And a check of his pockets confirms that he is in fact a reporter.

You disperse to your homes, no safer tonight than you were last night. The monsters are still out there, thirsting for blood.

Night has fallen. Send in your actions!

With dawn comes new hope. You survived the night, and you have another chance to kill the monsters.

Who knows? Perhaps you got lucky and another one of them managed to get killed in the night?

Once assembled, however, it is clear that only notquitethere has failed to show up. With dark mutterings you agree to head to his house.

There the cabin door is open, and a dusting of snow lays across the floor. There is no sign of him, but there is a large pool of blood and a trail that leads out into the snow before being buried. Looks like the monsters got him.

Looking around his house you find some fascinating books on Telepathy and various psychic handbooks. Not that it helped him fight off the doppelgangers, though.

With a shrug and some despondent looks you return to the lodge. You need to find them, and fast, before you all end up like him.

Day 3 has started. It will go until ~5pm Pacific Wednesday

Before the end of the night, NQT and I talked over PMs a bit.

Spoiler: "NQT PMs" (click to show/hide)

While analyzing the night kill is not usually a particularly good strategy, I think it's pertinent that NQT was drawing suspicion toward the end of the day due to his vote on Tiruin. I assert that scum are trying their best to protect Tiruin from being lynched, and NQT was too much of a threat to leave alive. Killing him would leave the wagon in my hands, and I haven't been as active nor as strong of a player and I also do not have the metagame sway that NQT possesses.

Since NQT was trying to organize night investigations, do we have any positives?

He was far from the only one. Both of us, ZU and Shakerag all showed suspicion of Tiruin at day end.

I'm more interested in why UXLZ suddenly decided to switch to pisskop with a reflex vote and then left before seeing day end.

UXLZ: Why did you vote pisskop at day end yesterday?

Also, I've asked the medium for what NQT received as the night's results, so we should get them regardless of him being a dead'un.

I'd just like to clarify something that I keep seeing brought up (both in thread and in PMs)

There can be any number of a given role in the game on any side, with the exception of specific third parties. There is no such thing as the something for most roles

Sorry if that has been confusing people.

UXLZ: Why did you vote pisskop at day end yesterday?

I didn't find anything weird about his vote, tbh. He showed suspicion of pisskop throughout the day, and his vote shows consistent mental inertia. I am a little worried about some of his RVS/RQS-style questioning. (Rolling dice is way weird this far into the game.) But he's also a newbie and his play here feels similar to his town play in the newbie game I played with him. I'd like to know more of what UXLZ thinks, possibly put into reads, but mostly as concise snippets of thoughts, since scum are least able to hide in them.

Cheeetar:[ No massclaim, I'd say. It'd give scum a list of priority players to kill. I feel like it'd be most optimal only to post roles that are confirmed to be revealed to the scumteam. (After flips or whatnot.) I didn't get/ask for any information from NQT about his contacts, but he seemed to be pretty well ingrained, which might also have gotten him killed. We should be looking back at his analysis from the end of the day very carefully because of his role.

I'm for this notion--however considering the details I gained through the night, I am wary to claim before everyone else does due to this, somewhat double-sided situation.

Tiruin, any news from your telepath friend- was it NQT?
Yes. Hilariously. :v
Cue utter scrutiny because I mentioned an in-joke between me and NQT with the manifestation of 'hilariously'.

Should we begin a massclaim?

I think so.

I am a Reporter.

N1 I followed mastahcheese because of his bandwagoning. He visited ToonyMan, as we already know.
N2 I followed Scripten because I had a lingering suspicion of him after pisskop's flip. However, I was blocked by a Psychic Warden.

This rubs me the wrong way.

Day 2 was hardly the first time notquitethere suspected Tiruin and he was hardly the only person to suspect her.

You also say analyzing the night kill isn't a good strategy and then do just that.

No, we should start collecting all the town's information together. If we fail to lynch scum today (which will be more difficult without a massclaim) we'll be eight players tomorrow with three scum and have less to work with.

If we were at ten players with two scum remaining I would agree with you but the situation is a little more urgent than that.

Tiruin:

Actually, cue utter scrutiny because this makes no sense.

NQT mentions that your confidante might not be psychic. NQT just flipped psychic. So you're saying that NQT was both confiding in you while also trying to get you lynched as scum, and you're also saying that NQT knew that your confidante WAS a psychic and was trying to mislead the scumteam when he thought you were scum? Does not make sense.

Also, what happened to your big post. It's been near a week now. You still haven't contributed anything solid to the game.

Jim:

Tiruin wasn't a leading wagon on Day 1. NQT is also a high-profile player with a strong town game.

You also say analyzing the night kill isn't a good strategy and then do just that.

I said it usually isn't, but sometimes you can just take Occam's razor to it. I'm doing just that.

No, we should start collecting all the town's information together. If we fail to lynch scum today (which will be more difficult without a massclaim) we'll be eight players tomorrow with three scum and have less to work with.

What information does a massclaim give the town, though? With multiples of any role possible, fake claims are insidiously easy for scum to make.

Big post not here because public PC shop--its saved on my laptop at home primarily because the net died there YET AGAIN >_>

Oh, and that bit with NQT and me?
I'M A TELEPATH.
He knew I'm a Telepath--and judging by the PMs I've received lately, has spread the info to some few others. I, however, did not know he was a Telepath (basically I roleclaimed to him and sent him info through PMs, primarily because I'm silly and decide to trust others instead of 'OMG NO TRUST FOR YOU, YOU MAY BE SCUUUM' and all that paranoia. :v)

Why I said I was confiding in another Telepath is because it was a thing I spoke to NQT about in PMs. "Hey, NQT, I'll just claim someone was telling me his notes instead of my results."
...So basically, y'all know my N1 target. Toaster was my target primarily because I had a lack of basis in D1--until now, I still see pisskop as town (now = D2 end, before the lynch) because of the DA-Pissk situation. Regardless of his attitude (not meaning I discard his attitude, but because of how he acted)

...>_>
<_<
Also you could blunt that last sentence's point a bit. Technical setbacks happen, and I've pics to show it (to those unbelievers like UXLZ :I [/I'mStillGrumpyOverWhatISawAsGeneralizingMySituation]
