Meh, whichever.   I'll throw this out as a talking point then:  I'm a Human Intelligence Scientist.

I planted tracking devices on UXLZ and NQT on D1.  Neither of them reported moving from their homes during the night.  Of course, if either one has an anti-tech device then that would also give the same result.

I picked UXLZ because I didn't know him and was getting a scummy gut feeling about him.
I picked NQT because of his PM about influencing flabort's target, and entertaining visions of sugar plums, fairies, and the both of them possibly being scum.

And, also for the record, if you think I'm being lurky on D2, god forbid any of you play a game with Vector.

NQT:
And you didn't think of making a stab at convincing Flabort otherwise? Are you so curmudgeonly that you couldn't fathom talking to someone? I even offered to intercede if you'd make a stab at an effort and you refused that too. It seemed like you were almost actively suicidal. Oh no! Someone wants to kill me, better roll over and expose my soft underbelly...
No.  He seemed like he had a pretty big murderboner pointed my way.  And I don't know how/why you'd influence who he was killing anyway.  I've already addressed this point.

Quote
OK, a lot of D1 is just smoke and mirrors (as Dariush, bless his black soul, once said) but it is possible to lynch scum. I helped pull the lynch away from a townie and onto someone who turned out to be a malicious 3rd party.
And you didn't know for sure you were pulling a lynch away from a townie either.

Persus13:
Why are you complaining about UXLZ asking questions?
I'm complaining about him asking bullshit questions.

Quote
Dumb luck? TDS was behaving scummy all day. It would be dumb luck only if everyone rolled a die to determine who they would lynch. Day 1's lynch wasn't from fallout over a gambit via PM, but from TDS being scummy. By your logic, every time we lynch scum, its dumb luck.
On D1?  You bet your ass it's dumb luck.  I would be shocked if non-town was lynched more often than town on D1.

Hmmm.  That's an interesting claim.  I am impressed.
Do tracking chips work all the time or only for one night?

Nqt: if Shakerag was likely scum, why shouldn't the vig shoot him?
I didn't say he shouldn't. Only that that's what scum were expecting. There's such things as Bodyguards and Sentry Guns etc. Possible precautions. For all I know they could have taken such precautions. I didn't say not to kill Shakerag, but I did say I was worried that they'd be prepared. Answer my question: what are you getting at?

Unvote. I can confirm that the part about me is true and I've not told anyone anything about my role. Why did you pick Track Devices over the other four options?

And you didn't know for sure you were pulling a lynch away from a townie either.
There's no certainty in this game but I was as confident as I could be. I take your point.

Cheeet
Shakerag: Why pick intelligence scientist and not one of the cooler ones?
Mad scientists don't get to pick their variant. The only options he had for tech were:
Surveillance System: A highly advanced security system watches over the Mad Scientist's house. He knows the identity of anyone who visits his house during the night a well as thier general purpose (Find, Protect, Kill). Of course, if it's to kill him he finds that out the hard way.
Snooper bot: This little bug-bot can trail another player at night and see where they go (if anywhere).
Advanced Tracking Devices: These devices are planted on players during the day. Once planted they show where the tracked individual is. If the player being tracked is killed, the device is lost. The Scientist starts with 2 devices and can create more devices by spending two nights working to build one.
Mind Shield: The Mind Shield gives the user a Mind Shield. Should the user already possess a Natural Mind Shield, it will be upgraded to an Advanced Mind Shield. An advanced mind shield provides the same protection as a normal mind shield, but has the added benefit of always appearing to work to the one using psychic powers against the user. Telepaths will always receive a 'Survive' result, Psychic Wardens will not know their power is blocked, and so on.
Anti-Tech Field: The Anti-Tech Field gives the user a Anti-Tech Field. Should the user already possess a Natural Anti-Tech Field, it will be upgraded to an Advanced Anti-Tech Field. An Advanced Anti-Tech Field provides the same protection as a normal Anti-Tech Field, but has the added benefit of always appearing to work to the one using tech items against the user (Except for killing techs). Tracking devices will show the player at home, Scanners will show Vanilla Townie, etc. Single-target One Shot items ARE used up when used against an Advanced Anti-Tech field.

Are you seriously trying to suggest here that Tiruin is lying about her net?

Nope. I'm suggesting that she's exaggerating or using it as an excuse. I believe that her net being bad is a legitimate claim.

Quote from: Tiruin
I can handle this and seriously punch UXLZ for the aggressive note in poking at my net 'because he could somewhat empathize'. -.-

Try loading up the 'new replies', then systematically mousewheel-tabbing the needed ones and then waiting for quite a few minutes for each single page to load, then more minutes to REPLY, then more minutes to PREVIEW. -_-

I can do more than just five posts if this was even faster, accommodating typing speed and knowledge of what to say beforehand.

Unlike your brief glimpse of 10 kbp/s, it is seen so common here that I assumed it was natural...until I heard of pretty much everyone else with their 10Mbp/s stuff. 100. 1GB...

And yes the WoT is going along nicely, thank you very much. :I

You seemed to have been perfectly capable of reading my post on you, given the first line. That was a pretty big post, you must have loaded most if not all of the rest of the page to be able to respond to it.
Also, I know that 10 KBp/s is workable, because I've used it. Either your internet is actually somehow worse than what it seems, or you're just using it as an excuse. I've had 10 KBp/s, so I know that it doesn't take minutes to load pages. It might take longer if there's a lot of large pictures, but on average I'd say it's about 40 seconds when it's *bad*.

That's beside the point, however. My issue with what you're doing isn't that you're lying that your net is bad, Tiruin, I believe you on that, it's that all you're doing is telling us that your net is bad when you could have otherwise been making an actual post.

Do note: I'm at school right now, so this is all I'll be responding to. My apologies to you, Tiruin, if you have finally done something and I just haven't read it yet.

My bad about the scientist stuff. I saw that he picked between stuff, and I immediately skipped over what it was he was picking (thought it was the variant.)

NQT: It's not too late to lynch Pisskop, y'know, seeing as you aren't voting for anybody currently. What's your read on him?

Yeah because its not like I pressed 'load last page' which took quite a few minutes to even darned load, Mr. I can Project my knowledge and make this equal what is truth. -.-

Which is actually APPARENT GIVEN THE RED LINE THERE.

Here, it takes MINUTES. Every darn new loading page on B12 = Loading...
For the next MINUTES. :-\

Yeah, like it wasn't eaten up after pressing Post, then seeing 'Oh goodness this {Loading...} again', then noting that refreshing another tab equals the same problem, then seeing the net DIE.
Then after pressing back when the inevitable {Problem Loading Page} occurs, the whole everything in that post is gone...its a huge dampener.

But hey, I'm making excuses and getting voted on. Let's assuage all this and admit it. Woohoo. -_-

I hear you. I'm seriously considering getting rid of him as a distraction. But if we set him to look at someone then we can confirm each night that he's not performing the nightkill. Even if scum, he'd be neutered scum. I'd like to kill unneutered scum. I need to look back over the game. Shakerag's claim in no way proves he's town. It gives me something to consider though.

Meph, if a doppelganger intelligence scientist is spending their night working on building a new tracking device can they also perform the scum nightkill?

Why did you pick Track Devices over the other four options?
Mind Shield - Boring.
Anti-Tech Field - Boring.
Surveillance System - Passive and boring.
Snooper bot - Interesting, but ...
Advanced Tracking Devices - Start with 2, they stay on the player until death, can make more of them.

Have we set him to look at someone? We didn't night 1! And his night 2 plan for watching somebody is super bad last I got wind of it (a few hours ago.) If he's town, he's done spectacularly poorly and we shouldn't keep him around just because he might stop doing badly. This is discounting, of course, how he's acted like scum in every single way.

To be honest with you, I'd have made the exact same choice regardless of alignment. I'll see what Meph says about the night action thing. If it precludes you from scum-killing then there's no need to lynch you (now) as we can be sure you won't be this night's killer (and if you are we'll know about it when you don't produce an accurate third tracking bug result).

I hear you. I don't necessarily think he's acted exactly as scum: he's attacked way more targets than the typical scum player would. He flails. Let's set him on someone tonight for concrete results.

Pisskop
Don't tell the thread who you intend to target tonight, but can you confirm that to the best of your knowledge you targeting will be confirmable in some way? I.e. you're watching someone who is very likely or that you know will be targeted OR you're following someone that will definitely target someone? Ordinarily this wouldn't be necessary for a Reporter but you're out as one and people don't trust you so you have to make damn sure you can prove your not killing anyone tonight.

I'm skeptical how Cheeetar knows anything about my night choice.  And frankly I don't want to share which action I will be performing, because the whole point is to catch the scums.

I don't feel the need to share that publicly.  I will send out my choice tonight to 2 people I believe are towny(er).
