spreadsheets are your best friends when it comes to this kind of game. :P Also, please eat food. I'd hate for you to keel over whilst trying to meet the demands of some randomers on the internet.

On second thought, I'll put this in a spoiler, to be safe.

I ate pizza with anchovies on it, if you were interested.

Anyway, I won't be getting the turn out tonight because it's already 11 PM and I still and not close to completion. My ability to update slows down the longer I work on it, as my ability to focus decreases.
I have all the information of the turns together, (and it's entirely possible I could just copy-paste a lot of it into direct turns) but I'd like to wait until I can do a proper update.
But in any case, the deadline for actions has been passed, and the turn will come when I can see straight again.

Alright that's cool. I just thought I put in some extra for fun :P. I do have a question on how battles will take place though. Is it gonna be just based on rolls or unit number or real tactics?

I was under the impression that strategy would play the real deciding role.

Some strategy would be awesome...though it would take mastah forever to do these battles ;-;.

Imagine a massive war and 3+ battles every turn for mastah x3

Mines simple, but I think the idea of rage is going to play a role in some units for people

It's about 99% tactics, over unit types or anything like that.

Rage is actually very useful, as it's basically temporary immunity to negative morale factors.

And yeah, once battles actually start, I'm going to make a dedicated Battle thread separate from the IC one, since the IC thread is for season-by-season actions, and 2 people in a battle would quickly clutter that up.

* Mastahcheese realizes that he's been working on this turn for nearly 5 hours now, and still hasn't even compiled the data for the turn, let alone actually put it into spoilers for the turn itself.

I think I am going to take a break to eat something. Or maybe look at the forums, I dunno.

It's like playing Sid Meier's Civilization games.
Only you don't have to wait a week for each turn, because Sid Meier himself has to roll for each NPC faction, and keep tabs on your tax rates and everything else. :P
I told you over IRC that you need to structurize and format a baseline on details D: [But seriously, good work there :D]
You have the PASSION and DRIVE for these things! Now all you need is how to translate it to something that won't grab most of your biological reinforcement!
(also I'm just as clueless to any of you to this game :P Just helping MC over the IRC with planning and stuff, on how to optimize his game using general suggestions, ie "Relate it to public speaking, most of the times good messages can be delivered concisely and short. Just in the wording. Next, seeing the variety of the game (knowing the players and the numerous actions that can be taken), use your creativity to envision a way to satisfy most of those notes but[...]")

Just saying so because it reminds me of how I work on my RtD--master how you can write, and you'll make 40k characters and surpass it in less than an hour, purely out of typing out your thoughts. Though that does also have to do with typing speed...

Also watch your health :< You're undertaking a great endeavor here with the game, but considering the future of it--it must be in a stable and continuous process. I don't think you burn-out easily, given how much I know you, but to be safe...compartmentalize details.

Fun game, reminds me of one game I used to play yoinks ago... (Tiruin will know what I'm talking about.)

Anyhow, given the volume of work you have, a solid spread sheet with interlinking formulas is a must. I've designed one for a game that had 7-8 people in it and it was mighty handy in moving things along. Also, I would suggest some simplification if you are getting lost in the details. The amount of players on hand makes it difficult to manage the updates often enough and that is normal. A co-GM might be helpful too, to reduce the workload. But most importantly, you cannot be hard on yourself, because it can quickly turn from fun to a chore.

But I don't like spreadsheets! I like notepad files, and text documents and ctrl-f!

But I've already decided to cut out flavor from the update, because that would take up way too much time.
But I have a very particular way that I structure things, and I don't think I'd very much enjoy working with a co-gm, particularly since a lot of the game isn't even written anywhere, it's just by memory. That's how most of my things are, actually.
And the things that are written down are largely indecipheable because of the method by which I categorize things, and that suits me fine.

May I make a suggestion of Notepad + + then? That way you can have another txt file for a table of contents for the lines that each person and their turn is on.

It's also free
