isn't reverse racism when you're inclusive of everyone

You'd think so, but according to a disconcertingly large number of people, being inclusive of everyone requires white people to be excluded.

It's called a persecution complex. It's what you get when you've assumed you're the center of the fucking world, and then when people point out that you're not you assume that they just hate you specifically instead of assuming they're just trying to exist in a system that has been rigged against them for centuries. \(O_o)/

(And yes, some of them are pretty fucking angry because the system has been rigged against them for centuries. Man, it's almost like that kind of thing could make someone, I don't know, upset?)

The entire bloody point of AA and those (barely existent, often explicitly illegal) "quotas" are to get people accepted based on their qualifications. They're implemented because the jackass employers weren't before hand, passing over either equally good or outright better candidates because their skin color was "wrong".

...it honestly didn't occur to me that employers would pass on qualified enough people purely because of race. At least not now in the modern era. _{^{Is this what they call white privilege? Should I check my privilege before I wreck myself?}}

Realistically I would think groups would be more likely to pass on qualified people because of their behavior or attitude rather than strictly due to skin color. I don't think that could really be called racist. Behavior and attitudes are the result of sociological/cultural factors rather than any genetic racial factors, right?

I don't think that could really be called racist.

There is a serious discussion to be had about the degree to which "impartial" metrics which just happen to favor some demographic groups over others can be called racism.  However it's not possible to have such a discussion when you have a reverse-reverse racist around pissing in the punchbowl.

Who are white people? I'm made up of a whole lot of irish, and I'm pretty fucking white. Also, I'm a Christian, and I am constantly subjected to godless people telling me who I can and can't hate, and it's literally oppressing me. And no one I know has ever started a holy war, religion doesn't actually cause violence, and being atheist doesn't make life any harder for anyone.

See at some point in these conversations there is a tipping point.  People equate actual harm with not being validated.  Racism is about things like not getting homes or jobs.  But people turn it into a strawman by acting like racism is black people not being validated.  This lets them turn things around and bitch and moan about not being validated themselves.

It's an ingenious little bit of fallacious thinking.  It's subtle enough that you dont notice it.  As a result it can derail almost any conversation about race.

They don't, generally, but individual employers certainly can be prejudiced in... any direction, really. Frumple seems to be buying into the rhetoric that all employers are racist against backs because and as such it's much harder to get a job without being favoured specifically for your race.

See my original point was that there are regressive social justice wackos who think white people and men are evil, etc. and they're gaining ground in universities and so on. You countered by saying "well akchully nobody hates you it's just that minorities are all oppressed and they're getting antsy", which is a completely asinine argument.

Probably. That's one of the nice ways to cut down on the problem- with enough eyes looking at the thing, no one will discriminate along the same two lines. So you end up with something that, in the end, doesn't really discriminate all that much at all.

Sounds like a silver bullet to me, let's just do that
