Well the democratic candidates are fundementally interested in good government and being interested in good government pretty sharply limits the range of possible views.

"climate change causes terrorist attacks"

- Senator Sanders 2015

(I don't remember exactly what he said, but that's the gist of what he said.)

I've read serious discussion to that effect. Climate change leads to famine. Famine leads to poverty. Poverty leads to fear. Fear leads to anger, etc.

that is impossible to prove. I could just as easily say: terrorists use fire, fire kills plants, plants remove less co2, etc. So it could just as easily go the other way.

The answers to this question are confusing as they're all over the place, at least Hillarys was.

Well it's true the other way.  It's just not a very large marginal rate of effect.

Hard to turn a budget into a soundbyte so instead they like to bang on the populism drum.

The question summary that CBS has is pretty misleading.

OR, I could say: climate change makes the world hotter, and some people interpret Islam to advocate terrorism. Completely unrelated.

(To be clear, I know that the majority of Muslims do not interpret Islam in this way.)

These national retail federation ads creep me out.

Just because P is a cause of Q does not mean that things outside of P can not be causes of Q.  There is no logical argument there.

EXACTLY! There is no argument to any of these things. There is no way to prove that climate change CAUSES terrorist attacks.

Let me quote my statistics textbook here. "correlation does not imply causation"

I think that there is a shift in expectations compared to the Republican debate.  The Republicans are expected to be establishing brands while democrats are expected to be moving to specific policies.

What?  That's a non-sequitur.
