That's like wondering if the Sun will continue to rise. Technically, it is a valid question.

I know. That's just the thing, we've come to expect that kind of rhetoric and talk from Trump 24/7 and it'll ruin the debate if he does that.

Why would it ruin the debate? That'd be the primary reason why I'd even consider watching.

To be fair, though, that's only because it's the closest thing to honesty we'd see there because at least Trump is treating the campaign like the circus it's become always been, really. Not that I expect him to be self-aware enough to think of it that way.

Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I mean he'll ruin it even worse, if that even makes sense.

I'm going to watch it too anyway (although AHC has this 'Titans' special thing happening the same day and I want to watch that), mainly to see what they say, their ideas, etc.

It's like a train wreck or something, you just can't stop watching. Plus maybe, just maybe, he'll be forced to actually answer policy questions.

Yeah like all those lame mainstream politicians answer policy questions?  They just talk about puppies while they sell the US to China.  The lamestream media never calls them out on it though.  Can't wait to see all the "gotcha" questions they have waiting for Trump and Palin.

I am pleased to report that Conservapedia has endorsed Trump. Nothing says "good Christian values" like running a casino into bankruptcy...twice.

Well, yeah. Gambling is a vice, after all.

Wait, still? Didn't he trash his chances with the whole Mccain thing?

He's never had any real chance in the first place, not with most Republicans having an unfavorable view of him. I doubt the Democrats like him any better, though the Democrats are happy to see Trump trashing the Republicans.

McCain has a sizable number of detractors in the Republican party too. They don't like losers, and many blame him rather than Palin for the 2008 loss, because he was "too soft".

See, for about 30 years now, the conservative reaction to losing elections is "we lost because we weren't conservative enough".

And other than the Bush era, they've been locked out of the White House since 1992. So they've shifted right so hard they're teetering on the edge of the cliff.

"McCain is a coward" is a train I've seen bantered about more than once. Only Trump is explicit about it, but asides and implications have been thrown at his military career for a while now. If he were a real man he would have died while wielding machine guns akimbo on top of Hamburger Hill, taking dozens of Charlies with him to hell.

To be fair, the same criticism was levied by some folks on the left in the 2008 cycle. That being captured doesn't automatically make one a hero. And folks on the right were casting aspersions on John Kerry's record (swiftboating, anyone?) and on Max Baucus (a triple-amputee Vietnam vet) when he lost to Saxby Chambliss.

Denigrating the service record of political opponents is nothing new. Hell, I even seem to recall one or more of McCain's GOP opponents in 2008 digging up somebody that claimed McCain colluded with the NVA and got better treatment than other POWs.

Fine, they've been out of power for 16 of 24 years. Or 4 of 6 terms. Or 2/3 of the last 24 years. Better? Actually, the number of terms might be the most illustrative since my point was that every time they lose an election cycle, they tend to shift further right.

And actually, when they *win* a cycle, they take it as a popular endorsement of conservatism and shift further right as well.

Yeah, or another way to put it is that they held the White House for 5 or the last 9 terms. You just pick an arbitrary cutting point that make it look like a big deal. I mean, the democrats havent controlled the House for 3 or the last 4 terms. They must be doomed!
