He also seems to understand basic macroeconomics which puts him ahead of about 80% of Congress and 95% of voters.  Although he expresses it in an oddly sexist way.

Not sure Bloomberg falls in that category.

Republican Candidates:
Ted Cruise: A loud moron.

Democratic Candidates:
Queen Hillary Clinton.

Are these really the only choices?

The only way Clinton will be pushed at least a little to the left would be with a friendlier congress, Presidents don't exist in a vacuum.  That said, there are numerous pick up opportunities for the Dems in 2016.  WI-Senator, for example.  Ron Johnson is waaaaay too conservative for the state and should fall with Pres year turnout out of Madison & Milwaukee.  Ditto for Kirk (R-Illinois).

Also, Dan Coats (R-Indiana) is retiring, opening up another pick up opportunity.  Aaron Burr (R-North Carolina) is near invisible, but does sit in a seat that could flip.

Not sure why you would get your hopes up about this one.

Because it's an open seat, and those tend to fall first even when they're more loyal to one party or another.  It is certainly a stretch compared to say, Wisconsin, Illinois, or Pennsylvania, but the opportunity is there, especially if Evan Bayh runs.

What do you mean near invisible?

Anyways, it seems like the democrats are trying to be careful of not announcing their candidacy before hillary does, or something.

Harry Reid's not running for re-election in 2016, which might make his seat more competitive.

We've got a reasonably popular Republican governor here who might have senatorial ambitions. I think he'd have a shot at the seat even if Reid was running.

Pretty much every Republican presidential hopeful is backing Indiana's new law.

One wonders if that's an April Fools despite the date being yesterday because so many are condemning the indiana law, so the candidates are potentially shooting themselves in the foot here. It's even coming from republicans too I think.

Primaries logic is different to election logic. You aim for the center of your own party at first, then that shifts to aiming for the center of the whole population later. So whoever gets through this should moderate their stances quite a bit. Political commentators are aware of this and it's expected to have the primaries candidates being more extreme at the start.
