You go to church. The church is mostly empty, but Father Donald is sitting and talking with a weeping old woman. Father Donald has been at this church for years, and has introduced you to many of the congregation. After a few moments, he approaches you and greets you.

"You look troubled, David. What's wrong?"

You tell him about the box, and the letter. He listens, and gives you some advice.

"It seems to be important to him. I wouldn't do it, but I'm old and set in my ways. It's really your decision. It's a question of how tolerant you are of this kind of thing."

He goes back to the grieving woman. He wasn't much help.

You sit on a pew near the altar. You pray that God forgives Jim's sins. You feel a little better. You still don't know what to do about the box. A dirty, disheveled man comes in and steps into the confessional. You aren't wearing your collar, but you could still help.

You pray for some kind of sign. You spend a few minutes doing this, but feel no inspiration. You feel confident that God has heard you, and you expect the decision to become clear to you any minute.

You realize that it's about 1:00 now. You might need to get some lunch.

+1
agreed. Gods work needs to be done by someone, and, well, we can always eat later.

You step into the other side of the confessional. You hear sobbing through the thin wall of the booth.

"I swear to God I thought he was an animal... I had been drinking... I can't go to jail..."

You should probably do something.

3. Ask the sobbing man for details.

As the bible says "Bear all, my son, on to the lord."

(from one who actually read the bible, it does not, but. . . . . its good enough)
