If you could pick the next squire's starting location, would it be...

A southernly port where cultures and norms of society mix and clash with each other?
A westernly city akin to Marienburg, home of current squire in play?
An easternly outpost at the edge of kingdom's borders, a beginning of thisverse's Silk Road?
A northernly fortress where young men prove themselves in combat with giants, wildlings and mystical beasts?
Centre of the kingdom, trapping the young squire in a thick web of decadent court's schemings and plots?

Outside. . . . maybe as a welcome back for your aunt and cousin. And as a thank you, from our side.

I feel strangely terrible for rejecting Fenya out of hand, but I suppose cultural values and maintaining the house and all that IS expected of us.

And yes, outside is best.  Less chance of breaking something.  Or getting pinned against a wall.

Or getting pinned against a wall.

* Haspen puts on soundtrack from gay porn from the 80's disco movie.

Yeah, screw it, might as well seduce our fellow squires now.  It'd allow practicing courtship with no risk of pregnancy!  Wins for everyone.

Or we could just focus on fighting and stuff instead of who we're going to marry, which is probably not going to be anyone of particular import.

"Truly," you say, voice dripping with friendly snark.  "My mind has been claimed by a powerful sorceress."

Then you tap him with your sword.  "Wait, no, nevermind.  I'm good."

Rastar is Squire Redfort's first name.

Why do we want to keep our name again? Our father has no alternatives so all his land will go to us regardless of who we marry. Who else is he going to give it to? Our sister? The way I see it, we either get our father's land and a wife (patrilineal) or we get our father's land and a wife who also has land (matrilineal). Our house isn't very prestigious in the first place or we wouldn't have had as much trouble becoming a squire. This would actually be a step up for us!
