..........This is the first time I ever complained about a game fault on a forum (not able to smelt pig iron/steel without magma) and it was fixed a day later.

I'll be sending you $10 for that!

Has anyone confirmed whether Goblins and Kobolds show up as they should again?

Has anyone confirmed whether Goblins and Kobolds show up as they should again?

I was wondering about this... I tried to settle on top of a kobold cave with a couple of steel-clad axelords for a little early game !!FUN!! looting their caves, and not a damn one I embarked upon had any kobolds.  They'll steal from my settlements like normal, but I'll check around with legend's viewer and find a cave with 300+ kobolds that hasn't been wiped out by a titan.  Then I settle on it and its empty.  No loot, no kobolds-the cave is just EMPTY.  I did a little experimenting and found that another THIEF monster (dragons) had stolen loot in their lairs (not just coins but bits of equipment as well).  I even made a couple of 1050 accumulated history games to make sure the kobolds had plenty of time to steal.  Again- the caves still had living kobolds in them (events about kobolds becoming various jobs just a year or so before I embark there), but still no kobolds (or their loot) when I actually arrive on their doorstep.

Does anybody else have abysmal performance after the newest release? The game is still playable for me, though only barely so. I can't play half an hour without getting random crashes, every other attempt to load a game ends with a crash and when I actually get the game running, I'm plagued by lags (that range from a few seconds to well over a minute).

Odd, I'm running consitently at 70 fps, when in 40.19 I was at 30.

Indeed, and Toady fixed that about five hours ago.

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.

The Toad works fast.
Nobody can fault him on being slow; He deals with forum drama and bugs alike with surprising speed.

Suddenly imagine Toady and Footkerchief as crime-fighting duo.

Eh, Big changes mean lots of little bugs. It's all part of the Process

It seems 0.40.23 will bring back the fun, with armies not losing themselves in fort mode.
