Long story short after *SPOILERS* Simon switches power sources and then screw up and meets *SPOILERS* and *SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS*. It's pretty great.

Well, it's more xenophobia. The way I've observed it Spiral Energy is kinda like an Ork Waaagh! in that it's powered by conflict against an outside force, and only escalates the larger the threat is. It is willpower and bonds with the rest of humanity... which I'm interpreting as rampant hate for anything not human and a desire to conquer the universe for humanity. Basically an Imperium of Man standpoint from 40k writ over here.

The fact that I agree with the viewpoint of the Anti-Spirals does have something to do with this, why do you ask.

To be fair, though, arguing against that, a Beastman, a non-human, DOES use Spiral Energy. Hell, a Beastman is using it right now ingame.

Dunno what the Incubators are, but I can sympathize with the Cybermen.
A beastman using spiral energy just means that they're wrongfully using *our* powers for their selfish desires! It must not be allowed to continue so the true dominance of humanity may be expressed!

Eh, on a serious note, to play devil's advocate, from a certain point of view, the Anti-Spirals had a point. Even if they got disproved- pretty sure pissing off the rest of the universe (it was mentioned there were rebellions apart from the Dai-Gurren Brigade) and the finale showing the world capable of living responsibly with Spiral Power (and conferring with aliens, sending a Beastman of all people as the human representative) kinda proved otherwise.

Overuse of Spiral Energy could lead to blowing up a universe. Then the Anti-Spirals DID use Spiral Energy in the end, and DID end up blowing up a universe. Also, note that Simon basically created a god out of Spiral Power.

Not to say that the Anti-Spirals were right to be pricks, but there was a point to telling people 'DON'T OVERUSE SPIRAL POWER'. Note the 'overuse' term. It's shown to be perfectly okay to use Spiral Power in moderation- hell, even beneficial. Long as you aren't using it to some godlike purpose (Simon in the climax, Lordgenome, the Anti-Spirals), Spiral Nemesis won't happen.
