Officer training school is a good idea. Larger squads are always wise, although you're doing really well without them.

How short from the Uplinks are we?
We're really close to the first (we need just 1 more engineer), but I'm pretty sure we need 11 more to get the second. We can theoretically get that this month if the Council Nations give us the right offers, but it's not guaranteed.

When did we get Van Doorn?
He joined us after we rescued him doing that one Council Mission. It's one of the neat touches in Long War.

Risk versus reward.  If we just need one, hold out until we can't build it and get the benefit this month.

...does LW still work like vanilla in that you can launch satellites on the last day of the month for the full benefit?

Yes, it does. Uplinks are worse, though, so we'll need two of them to get the 3 Satellites to fully cover North America.

Oh, I don't remember the van Doorn mission.

It's one of many possible Council missions, and plausible to finish the game without ever seeing it.

To be honest, having some money for building those uplinks (we'll have to pay for satellites, too, remember) and the thermo generator sounds best at the moment. I don't recall any worhwhile foundry upgrades at this point anyway.

I'll officially take Covering Fire. No particular opinions on where our money goes, though.

Out of curiosity, am I still alive? Just haven't seen me in the last several missions (Solomon Grey, Medic)

Yeah, the OP barracks roster should be up to date. There are a lot of you guys, so I'm trying to cycle through you while still getting the NPCs some experience. I'm also trying to save at least a squad of named characters available for major missions, since I want your soldiers to be the ones doing the real hero stuff.

Solomon is up for the next mission, don't worry.
