Hehe, just have most of your fort's population enrolled in the military with at least 60% of the year on active duty. You'll get massive numbers of named weapons; those may have non-artefact craftsdwarfship, but they count as the real thing in hauling. Mechanixm's fort has more than i bothered to count.

It was a very fun fort to look at, btw. - all military, all built up. It brought my computer to its knees (9-11 fps), so i didn't fiddle with it beyond messing around with those damn unhaulable weapons, but i did take a short look around and was duly impressed. My forts are much more cramped and irregular.

I have 3-4 minimum soldiers training in each squad at all times. I never feel like they get that good tbh. I don't use danger rooms but I would think I could eventually turn them into killing machines...

On my i7-4790k overclocked to 4.6ghz it runs at a stately 20 fps.  I feel ya.  :)

Did you visit the caves and the Patrol routes I got going on down there?

My suggestion...whenever you have animals on your map...send a military squad out to kill the animals.  It's free military training, and actual combat trains your dwarves much faster than sparring.
