Just to clarify: cannon is right next to the pier entrance, street signs nearby are Colorado and Ocean. Right across from "41 Ocean" and and "Del Frisco's Grille"

Lightforger had to leave unexpectantly, but we'll still be near or at the cannon.

We are hungry so we shall be getting food. We will be at the Del Frisco's Grill. Across the street from the cannon.

Well, that was fun everyone! Some lessons to keep in mind for the next time:
-Get everyone's contact info beforehand
-Make sure the landmark we designate as the meeting spot is actually unique

LB, do you want to do a 1-1 meetup next week at Irvine Spectrum?

Any fun stories? Who was secretly a hot girl? Blow anything up? Anyone get arrested? Who got drunk? Did you hack into any government mainframes? Any pictures? User meets tend to be weird, but fun events.

Tentatively, sure. At the moment I'm doing this weird "work a job" thing that actually expects me to be places at specific times. I don't know when they're expecting me to be in just yet. But probably yes, next weekend should work.

Pictures, yes, but you'll have to ask for them in PM, since Kevak doesn't want his picture on the internet. And a few interesting stories, though I can't seem to remember all of them at once due to being in an advanced state of burnout.

Off the top of my head:
-Within minutes of my arrival, we recieved this random diagnosis from some nearby dude on a bench: "HEY! YOU GUYS LOOK LIKE YOU COULD USE SOME WEED!" Which is a hilarious thing to have shouted at you out of nowhere
-As it turns out, there is another cannon in that park, which complicated things in finding Acetech and his GF.
-Light forger had to bail before we found Acetech

I would rather not have my picture distributed at all. So transferring through pm is a no.

That's heartwarmingly oldschool. Used to be at BBS meets in the 80s/90s we'd not even use real names. There were people I knew in person for years, and we all called each other by our handles. Even lan parties at somebody's house we'd introduce people to parents, and when hostesses at restaurants asked for a name to put a table under...all done via handle. "No real names" was standard policy.

Now, it's common for people to use their real name even in an email address and post all sorts of personal information on social media sites.

I don't use social media sites beyond this forum. The only people on the forum who know my name are those I have met personally. (And one other who I trust)

You aren't gonna argue me into saying okay. No means no.

I don't think he was trying to convince you, I think he was just expressing that people might be giving away their info a bit too readily.
