((If they didn't have any ships already in system, would they even have had time to show up yet? Seems like it's maybe been a couple hours at most.))

((There's a worldgate a few hundred kilometers away. Shouldn't take too long to scramble a small ship.))

((The worldgate just pinches two points of space together. You still have to get to the worldgate on the other side, and it takes at least hours if not days to travel between planets at an acceleration of 1G, though ships can travel faster if they use inertial dampening. If they happen to have spare units available right on top of the specific opposite worldgate, it would be quick, but the only nearby ping you got was from an individual on the ground, who might indeed arrive at some point.))

The main issue I see is the description of your race as mushrooms. How did they build spheres in the first place if they are just purple mushrooms? Are they normally plump helmet men that have biologically augmented themselves?
(I imagined them as having tiny tentacles for roots which they can use to crawl around and build things with, but they are very slow and really squishy.)
Me and Hugo just discussed comparisons to Earth species. A race developed on another world is very unlikely to actually be part of the actual Fungi kingdom from Earth, but they can share current traits. If they share similar biological traits, what about their home world caused fungus-like creatures to be the dominant organism over others?
(There home world is covered in a huge amount of caves and has a very hot and wet atmosphere perfect for fungi like species to rule.)
Also, do you mean their planet was destroyed as in "bombed to hell and back" or "gravitationally scattered"?
(Both.)

((That's not exactly characteristic of the fungus kingdom, but I'll buy it.))

((That probably puts the Horgaerans at a type II level on the Kardashev scale, most likely. They'll probably show up as an enemy at some point.))

(So is my Character sheet accepted?)

((It's on the front page as of now))

((I do have to question how hypnotic spores would work.))

((My impression was that the spores contained chemicals that have effects similar to a refined psychotropic drug that inhibits brain activity. It wouldn't be like mind control, but it would allow the character to subdue NPC's somewhat and maybe plant ideas into their mind (with a significant chance of failure or misunderstanding, of course).

Considering that there are many plants with psychoactive drugs in them, I don't think it's a stretch to say that the creature's spores contain some, perhaps for developmental purposes.))

((Depending on the kind of high.))
((Inertial dampening: Creatures adapted to greater/lesser surface gravities would tend to accelerate proportionally faster/slower when not dampened, wouldn't they? Since I assume the 1G is for earthling tolerance.))

((Yes, unless they have human/squishy passengers. Even then, they might increase it slightly at the expense of those passengers. 1.3 G is difficult for humans but any more than that and they can barely move.))

Look as though I'm looking for survivors in the wreckage, but actually scavenge for goodies.
