D&D 3.5: Ascending: OOC Thread
« on: October 22, 2014, 07:01:56 pm »

You and your friends step into the town square. Looking around absentmindedly, you see a fountain gushing water in the town center and some various peasants going about their daily business. The day is excellent; the sun shines brightly, the birds chirp, the breeze is comfortably cool. However, you aren't here to stand all day. You and your three companions are adventurers, seeking very adventurer-y things, whether they be glory or gold, knowledge or perhaps even nothing. You are adventurers, and that means you need some more adventure.

Spoiler: The Rebian Peninsula (click to show/hide)

This is a D&D 3.5 campaign in the vein of "sandbox" games; that is, you have no preset goal.

I think that sums it up rather well, so I'm going to move onto rules.

Reserve. Paladin most like. Again, don't forget to sort out the house rules. Makes them easier to read.

Could I have a Dire Wolf as a mount? Or a scaled up wolf of some sort?

Meh, I'm cool with that, I guess. Paladins suck enough to warrant it. You'll still have to pay for the special saddle, although that's not much of an issue by level 5, I guess.

Can't let you do that, Star Fox. :P

D:  Why does no one like Wizards that can punch gods and wrestle Tarrasques?

They make that guy who was playing a Monk for fun feel sort of useless.

Well that's their fault for taking the "Become one with the winds" path instead of taking the "I'M ALWAYS ANGRY" path.

Well, to be fair, an Unarmed Fighter makes a Monk feel sort of useless.

That's why Monks have that nifty little "Doesn't age" thing. The fighter feels really good. Until he turns 60. PLUS the Monk ALWAYS gets up first so they get to hog the bathroom. The 60 year old fighter has to walk down the stairs to use the downstairs one. Too bad monks are so fast that the fighter will never get there.

Many a fighter has pissed their pants after a particularly vengeful monk sets their mind to it.

I'm open to suggestions. Keep in mind that he can't really outright KILL people. But that's what the others are for.

Could you apply meta-magic feats to a wand? Say, for a totally unrelated example, Quicken to a wand of Cure Light Wounds? [1x2x750 = 1,450] and all that... Can't quite afford it. But curious.
