"That's not a highly complex necromantic relay, It's an obelisk full of dead magic, Likely made of some mundane material so it purposefully leaks everywhere, raising all the corpses here and making them hostile to everything that isn't them.  As for turning them, 1 Mana apiece unless I have some means of casting the Turning spell over a wide area."

Reflective metals an contain magic, though finding one that doesn't tweak the magic to it's type over time can be a pain. Like, I could use gold to Contain a batch of death magic, but over time, the magic would turn from uncontrolled liquid death magic, to uncontrolled golden death ray magic, due to it being in contact with the material, in some cases this can be useful as you can get something entirely new, Like mixing Blue and yellow paint, and getting green out of that.

Take this chart as an example."

"Following just one chain from this chart, We start with raw magic, which flows from the soul in a steady stream. this magic is then exposed to air, where it becomes waves of Air altered magic, This 'Air altered' magic could then come in contact with a hunk of gold, and become a Ray of 'Air, and then gold altered' magic, which is itself different from a ray of 'Gold altered' magic. the difference could be minute, or wildly parallel. So in this example, if I stored dead magic in an iron container, over time, the dead magic would mingle with the iron's quality, and the magic inside would be tainted, eventually becoming a ray of 'Bone, and then Iron altered' magic. Which Could have a similar effect to either dead or iron magic, or it could cause chickens to be teleported to wherever it touches."

"And lastly, the key factor that makes dead magic different from death magic is that Dead magic is truly and completely severed from it's source, Making it uncontrollable, Which is why you don't use dead magic to raise a corpse, as it would act of it's own accord, rather than mine, unless I took control myself. It is the same reason why souls without a body will eventually become powerful abominations, as the limitless trickle of magic from their souls become more and more divorced from their control, without a body that it can sustain, the dead magic attempts to preserve it's existence, by latching onto them, and absorbing them into a body made of uncontrollable magic.

Death magic is simply mana attuned to corpses Which I can use to manipulate them like puppets. much in the same way my magic allows my own body to move."

"Any questions?"

Do you have any knowledge of AoE spells from which to base our theories?

Nope, perhaps we could finagle some sort of result from our 'Circle' spells, though.

Nice.
Anyway, I really like how there is so many things we can play around with here, I'm betting it's sustained spell, but what would I know?))

Oh, actually:
QUESTION TIME:
Would imbuing our flame breath with something like Detect object Spoken cause the flame to point in the direction of whatever we want to find? Or, on a different note, would imbuing our flame with Crackpot Sigil 1 cause anything hit by it to liquify?

"Probably, and probably not, in that order. I bet it would just make containers it hit gain some variation of the crackpot sigil itself."

> Just have your undead tear the natural undead into pieces to small to be dangerous, might be usefull for something later.

> Siphon off all the dead magic from the obelisk.

> Lets get flame breath of Changing Sigil so we can use it on more different things when crafting.

"Allright, stand back ya goofs!"

You take a deep breath, filling your lungs with magical fire. -3 Mana, +10 flame charges

You then spew a wave of purple flames, infused with a spell to enslave the Undead. -1 Mana, -3 Flame charges.

All but the furthest two are placed under your power.

"What you do?"

"Made them good guys." you smirk.

The two remaining zombies have begun to gnaw on your new minions.
